By know, I think most of you know how much I enjoy discovering new restaurants in San Diego. I'd say that it's one of my favorite things to do in my city, and when the opportunity came to collaborate with El Agave Restaurant and Tequileria in Old Town- I had to say yes! Food and styling a casual outfit? What's not to love? I decided to invite my mom to a casual lunch in Old Town and this is what I wore to our little mother-daughter lunch. You'll also get to see the "lunch of the day" which was really really great. You probably already heard me rave about the lunch if you follow me on Snapchat, but in case you didn't then you'll hear me rave about it in this post as well.

Trying Canadian Candy
It all started a few weeks ago when I was really bored at Sam's Club in Tijuana, I thought it would be a good idea to snap about my favorite Mexican candy since I do have many followers that live outside of the U.S. and Mexico. I gave my Snapchat homies (yes, that's how I call my followers) a rundown on my favorite Mexican candy and tried my best to describe what they taste like. This caught the attention of my friend and fellow blogger/vlogger, Maria Medeiros and she suggested the idea of doing a candy swap. I've never done anything like this before on my YouTube channel, so I was totally on board for a little Mexican to Canadian candy exchange.
Found In San Diego | The Crack Shack
This past weekend I sadly became a crack addict, a Crack Shack addict to be exact. I have my parents to blame for this since they were the ones who enabled me to devour the dangerously delicious fried chicken. Normally I'm not this crazy about fried chicken, but I quickly learned that this ain't your run of the mill fried chicken that you can get at the drive-thru window. If you're into healthy meals like kale and quinoa salads or those fancy but gross detox drinks, then look away. This is the cheat meal to end all cheat meals, the comfort food that will magically get rid of any of your worries, and the meal that will create the most epic food baby.
Random Favorites #1
In case you haven't heard, my vlog channel got a little bit of a re-branding and is now my lifestyle channel called Bonus Laura. Apart from posting an occasional vlog, I will also be using the channel to share my other interests such as food and pop culture. Since my regular favorites videos focus so much on makeup and beauty products, I've decided to start sharing my lifestyle and food related favorites over on my second channel. My first favorites has a lot of healthy food options and a little natural remedy that has helped me establish a much more healthy sleeping pattern. And there's also a little cameo from a little dog that wanted some attention while I was filming.
The Easy Way to Cook Spaghetti Squash
Just like many of you, one of my goals for this year was to change my lifestyle and eating habits. After being a yo-yo dieter for the majority of my life, this year I promised myself that I wouldn't fall for those "get slim quick" schemes. Instead I want to focus my energy into making small changes that will allow me to have a healthier relationship with food. Some of the changes I've been implementing into my lifestyle has been finding healthy alternatives for foods that I enjoy, such as pasta. Having pasta once in awhile isn't bad for you, but having too big of a portion is. A way I've avoided the temptation of overeating pasta has been by switching it with spaghetti squash, which is a much healthier alternative. For my very first cooking video I'm going to be showing you how easy it is to cook spaghetti squash at home.
What's new at Project Pie
If you're subscribed to my vlog channel or follow me on Instagram then you've seen my love for Project Pie plenty of times before. I first went to Project Pie back in January and since then I've been head over heels in love with their customizable artisan pizzas, chill vibe, and their soda fountain. I'm a girl who likes to eat good food and not break the bank, and Project Pie allows me to try different pizza combinations for less than $10. My homies from the Project Pie Twitter (hello guys!) recently asked me if I wanted to try the newest items in the menu and I said YES! Why would I say no to a great food chain that has given me several food comas?
Parisian Memories
I always feel so annoying when I talk about Paris because since coming back from studying abroad it's all I ever talk about. Almost everything reminds me of Paris nowadays. Cloudy days- Paris, cheese- Paris, wearing scarfs- Paris, red lipstick- Paris. You know how some people believe in love at first sight? I may not believe in love at first sight in the traditional sense, but that is just what happened when I first went to Paris in 2008.
Vlogging Weekend
This past weekend I did a whole lot of vlogging since I was in a really good mood. I always tend to vlog when I got visit my boyfriend or when he comes down to see me, so this past Friday I vlogged our latest foodie adventure. And on Sunday instead of going to a Super Bowl party, I decided to spend the day with my little Yorkie, Francis. I took her to the local dog park to see if she could improve her social skills because she tends to be very awkward in social situations just like her owner.
Venissimo Cheese
I never quite got around to sharing my new year resolutions with you but while pretty much everyone was making the same resolution of losing weight, I was making more creative resolutions. One of my resolutions was to get back into photography. Little known fact, I've been into photography and collecting digital, film, and instant cameras since high school. I would literally take my DSLR and look for inspiration everywhere, but for some reason I just stopped recently. This year I plan to take you around places here in San Diego, Tijuana, Orange County, and Los Angeles as part of the weekly lifestyle post. We're starting off the weekly lifestyle posts with a magical trip to a cheese shop in San Diego called Venissimo Cheese.
Derpin Eats | The Pilot Episode
In case you haven't noticed by the overabundance of food pictures on my Instagram, I like food. While I'm not the best cook in the world, I do have people in my life that are great cooks. I decided to start this new cooking series on my channel where I'll be sharing some recipes with a dash of silliness, or should I say derpiness. In this first episode my boyfriend attempted to replicate a udon recipe that he found on YouTube. Of course being the first episode, we didn't plan things very well so things definitely went wrong. At least we now know that he can make noodles! Apart from the noodles, all you're going to get to see are some very derpy moments that hopefully will make you excited for upcoming episodes.
