Let me start off this post by saying that I LOVE nail art. It's just so much fun! What I don't love is spending hours doing nail art and having one hand look like shit. Anyone feel me? My left hand always looks amazing, while my right hand looks like I let a three year old doodle on my hand. Another thing I really dislike about nail art is the clean up. Oh, the clean up! Nothing is worse than having nail polish all around your cuticles and then trying to remove it by using a thin brush and acetone. Because of that I decided to give DIY nail stickers a shot and I quickly learned that this is definitely the way to make nail art much more noob friendly.

Nails of the Day | The Drugstore Nude
I honestly didn't think much about this Essence nail polish when I first saw it earlier this year because of how cheap it was. I mainly bought it just to test out the Essence nail polish formula and for less than $4 I said, why not? I was not expecting much out of this formula since it's so cheap, but I've been pleasantly surprised by the longevity of this particular nail polish formula. Not only is the color a beautiful nude, but the formula has remained chip-free for 5 days now. In this post I'm going to be sharing this affordable nude polish and I also want to let you in on my new favorite base coat! I think the base coat definitely deserves a lot of credit for keeping this nail polish practically glued to my nails.
Nails of the Day | Vibrant Vibes
I probably have every single color in the rainbow in my nail polish collection. I am not one to shy away from very bright, unusual, or "ugly" nail polish shades. The weirder the shade, the better! Nail polish can easily be removed with acetone, so there's no harm in experimenting with colors. One of the more unusual shades that I own is this neon pastel lime green color by Essie. It's kind of a weird color to describe because it is bright like a neon, but it also has a milky white base like a pastel. I never thought that I would need a neon lime green polish, but when I saw this I immediately picked it up.
Nails of the Day | Relentless
The other day when I went to Walmart I came across a brand new display of L.A. Colors nail polishes that claimed to last up to 10 days. With claims like that, you know I had to pick up one of these bad boys up to see if they really hold up over a week. There was a decent selection of shades available from the classic white, to very unique shades like this vibrant purple. I went ahead and bought a color that I was 100% sure that I didn't already own, and I was right! I don't have anything as vibrant as this purple shade, so it made me very happy to get such a fun shade for the summer. Now for the important thing, does this nail polish really last up to 10 days?
Nails of the Day | Royal Crescent Gardens
As much as I truly hated the Nails Inc Paint Can that I recently tried out, I just couldn't stay mad at Nails Inc. I did end up going back to Sephora to return the Nails Inc Paint Can, but instead of getting my money back I decided to exchange it for a new bottle of their fabulous Nailkale polishes. My favorite color to wear on my nails is mint green, I actually kind of have a thing for that color if you've noticed my blog's logo. When I saw this color I knew I needed it in my mint nail polish collection and thankfully it is quite different to the other colors I currently own.
Watercolor Nail Art
I feel like I've tried almost every nail art technique imaginable. Dotting tools? Check. Nail stripers? Check. Stickers and gems? Yep, I can check those off too! I've even used straws and toothbrushes to create a splattered effect. And yes, I've even tried the very messy water marble technique which I made a tutorial about and it happened to be my most disliked video I've ever uploaded to YouTube. In all honesty, it was a pretty terrible video. One technique that I had never attempted was the watercolor nail art technique. For some reason I thought it was going to be very challenging to get that effect with regular nail polish, but it turns out that all you need are a few colorful Sharpies and some rubbing alcohol. Yeah, that's basically all you really need for this easy and playful springtime nail art.
Review | Nails Inc Paint Can Spray Can Nail Polish
It's not often that a product shakes up the beauty world like the spray can nail polish did earlier this year (see what I did there?). Leave it up to Nails Inc to come up with a truly innovative way to paint your nails. The Paint Can Spray Can Nail Polish was designed for the woman who doesn't have too much time to perfectly apply nail polish. I had heard mixed review about the Paint Can polishes on YouTube, but I still decided to purchase a can and try it out myself. Unlike other reviews I've seen, I'll be showing you how it applies and also how it wears for a week. You already know I'm a huge fan of Nails Inc if you read this post, so I'm definitely going to be expecting this to wear as amazing as their other formulas.
Nails of the Day | Color Block Nail Art
It's been a hot minute since I've attempted any type of nail art on my own nails, but I felt like giving this very simple color block design a shot. I saw the color block nail art tutorial on Ipsy's YouTube channel a few weeks ago and fell in love with how minimal looks. Let me tell you, this nail art design is truly easy as pie! You don't need any fancy brushes or nail art tape to do this. All you need are three nail polishes and a smooth surface like a table, this will help avoid the dreaded shaky hands. I chose to do my nail art with the Pacifica 7 Free Nail Colors which are amazing and don't contain many of the chemicals known to affect a woman's health.
Nails of the Day | Juicy Satsuma
There's nothing I love more than a juicy mandarin in the spring and I couldn't be happier that it's mandarin season right now. Whenever my mom buys Cuties (a brand of mandarins here), I will literally gulf them down like Pac-Man with absolutely zero regrets. To celebrate my love for mandarins, I've decided to paint my nails in a bright mandarin shade. This won't help my mandarin addiction whatsoever, but I just love the bright color of mandarins. To make things even better, this nail polish has a very glossy finish that kind of makes your nails look like candy!
Nails of the Day | Midnight Rambler
Is nail polish toxic? There's been several studies in recent years which have revealed that many of the drugstore and salon brands contain potentially harmful chemicals like triphenyl phosphate, phthalates, and parabens. Triphenyl phosphate is one of the biggest chemicals to be aware of since it's known to disrupt hormones signaling, something that is very important if you're going through puberty or pregnancy. More and more brands are changing their formulas but vegan brand, Pacifica, is going really outdoing themselves by offering a great array of nail colors that are safe for every woman to use.
Nails of the Day | Baby Blue
Spring is pretty much here in San Diego, so it's time for me to start busting out the pastel shades. Although I'm not a fan of color in my wardrobe, you know that I'm not one to shy away from color on my nails. I probably own every shade of pastel possible: yellow, blue, purple, pink, and lots of mint polishes. I am a complete sucker for pastel colors on my nails and this pastel blue polish has me wanting to use nothing but the heart eyed emoji.
Nails of the Day | She Better Werk
Social media stars are ruling the beauty world! In 2016 Sephora unveiled the Formula X #ColorCurators collaborations which will feature three limited edition nail polish shades curated by a popular content creator. As someone who participates in the world of beauty blogging, it makes me so happy to see someone like Sephora reaching out to bloggers and vloggers for a nationwide campaign. And when I first heard that my spirit animal PatrickStarrr was chosen as February's curator, I couldn't help but to say "YAAAAAZ" out loud. Patrick is the incredibly talented and fearless beauty vlogger who taught me about the power of baking your face and having a nice bold pout. Knowing Patrick I knew that he was going to deliver three bright colors with fun names, and he definitely brought his signature sass to Sephora.
My Introduction to Nails Inc
Nails Inc polishes has been on my wish list for such a long time thanks to Vivianna Does Makeup and in December I finally got the chance to try them out. As a nail polish addict, I always get excited to try out a new nail polish range especially one as hyped as Nails Inc. I managed to find some bottles on sale recently because all of the bottles will be getting a little chic makeover so they can have the same luxe look as the Nail Kale range. The formula has to be one of the best I've encountered, and the brush makes it incredibly easy to get even coats of color. I currently own three nail colors and one glitter, but you already know that I'm thinking of more colors to pick up. I think it's safe to say that Nails Inc has completely stolen my heart.
Nails of the Day | Rose Gold
Nails of the Day | Dark Chocolate
Brown seems to be one of the "it" colors at the moment in both the fashion and beauty worlds. We are currently seeing a resurgence of brown hued lip colors, nail polishes, and eyeshadows all inspired by the 90's. And by now I think all of you know how much I love the browny nudes and browny rose lip colors, since it seems that those are the only shades I've been purchasing the past 3 months. Apart from embracing brown hues on my eyes and lips, I really haven't tried the trend elsewhere until now. The Allure and butter LONDON fall collaboration includes six unique trendsetting shades, and today I decided to sport some very dark brown nails.
Nails of the Day | Power of Pink
Recently I was introduced to a new nail care and polish company named Dr.'s Remedy. This brand was created by two doctors after seeing many of their patients come to them with brittle and discolored nails as a result of the harsh chemicals in most nail polishes. The Dr.'s Remedy nail polishes are enriched with garlic bulb extract, tea tree oil, wheat protein, vitamin c, and vitamin e. Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, Dr.'s Remedy released the Power of Pink collection that features three different shades of pink. Dr.'s Remedy will be donating 10% of all the Power of Pink sales to the Living Beyond Breast Cancer Foundation which I think is incredible. So let's take a look at the pale pink shade that I'm wearing on my nails right now.
Nails of the Day | David Bowie Nails
I was just browsing the "nails of the day" tag on my blog and it seems like I haven't posted one in over a year. I feel like running to my room and cover my face in embarrassment right now. How did that even happen? How did I not post a "nails of the day" when I paint my nails once or twice a week every week of the year? I honestly don't know how that even happened but I'm bringing "nails of the day" back from the dead with some rock'n'roll glam. By now you all know that I love David Bowie, I've done a Ziggy Stardust makeup tutorial and even named named my dog Bowie. When I saw these David Bowie nail decals on Etsy, I knew I had to buy them for Outside Lands. This post is more of a throwback post, but I just wanted to show you the Outside Lands approved David Bowie nails!
Sally Hansen Pearl Crush Nail Colors
A few days ago I showed you the new Sally Hansen Insta-Ombre nail colors and now it's time to show you their other summer release- Pearl Crush. The Pearl Crush nail colors come in eight shades that will give your nails an iridescent look that's perfect for summer. These nail polishes are composed of a sheer nail color, tiny glitter particles, and large iridescent pearl-like particles. The Pearl Crush nail colors sound amazing in theory, but to they work? I have to say as excited as I was to try them out, these left me quite disappointed.
Sally Hansen Insta-Ombre Nail Colors
Every summer I look forward to Sally Hansen's nail releases. I always find that they come up with very interesting effects and fun colors for summer, and this summer is no exception. Ombre is a trend that doesn't look like it's going anywhere and Sally Hansen created an effortless way to get the trend without any of mess. You won't need any makeup sponges or stamping techniques to achieve the gradient effect that you're looking for! The new Insta-Ombre Special Effect Nail Colors are available in eight different glitter shades which allow you to achieve the look in three very easy steps. In this blog post I'm going to share four of the shades with you and you have to trust me when I say that they're amazing! These are definitely not your normal glitter nail polishes.
Nails for Spring
A few weeks ago I went to my friend, Tatum's, office to discuss a future collaboration. You've seen me wear Love Tatum rings plenty of times on both my YouTube channel and on my blog, so a collaboration just seemed very natural. As we began bouncing ideas off of one another, I had an big "aha" moment. Instead of coming up with a simple "outfit of the day" type post, I wanted to create a fun video presenting a few nail ideas for spring. BRILLIANT! In today's video I will be presenting five nail ideas for spring, including a marble inspired nail art which was incredibly messy to create but looked incredibly chic.
