My Hair Routine for Short Wavy/Curly Hair

I think by now most of you understand how truly lazy I am when it comes to hair, that's one of the many reasons why I choose to have my hair short. Personally I can't be bothered by a complicated hair routine or styling my hair every single day. I only wash my hair two to three times a week and I use dry shampoo on the other days. When I do get around to wash it I like to use four products to style and keep my hair healthy. I don't like spending more than ten minutes on my hair because let's be honest, I'd rather do my makeup rather than my hair any day.

If you're addicted to social media, then you've most likely have seen and heard about the Ouai Dry Shampoo Foam. Ouai (pronounced "way") is the new "it" hair care company that was founded by celebrity hairstylist, Jen Atkin. She's most known for styling the Kardashian girls and like we all know by now, the Kardashians (love them or hate them) are pretty much the biggest trendsetters in the beauty world. Much like the Kardashians, Ouai has built an incredible social media following and gained a lot of beauty blogger fans along the way. Literally everything they've released so far has been raved and raved about, but no product beats the hype that surrounded the launch of the Ouai Dry Shampoo Foam. Yes, this is a dry shampoo in mousse form. Since this product was incredibly overhyped, I decided to give it a try on my dark wavy/curly hair.

Since getting bangs I've been getting asked how I style and trim them on recent videos and in my social media posts, so I decided to film a quick tutorial for you. Trimming your own bangs is not only very easy but it'll also save you quite a lot of money in the long run. I've been trimming my own bangs for years now and I've learned a lot from all the mistakes that I've made in the past. Don't worry though, in this post I'm going to walk you through all the things you should avoid doing so you don't end up with tragically short or crooked bangs.

My New Haircut | Asymmetrical Bob with Bangs

The bangs are BACK! It has been a few year since I've rocked the bangs but I started feeling a bit too plain without them. Many of you probably started following me when I was bang-less, but I've had bangs for most of my life. I guess you can refer to bangs as my security blanket, or maybe you could even call them my all-time favorite accessory. Back in the day I used to straighten the shit out of my bangs, so I assumed that it would be near to impossible to rock bangs without feeling the need to use a straightener everyday. But let me tell you, having bangs with textured hair is more than possible. In fact, the bangs are perfect for my laziness because I literally just put product and let them air dry. Apart from the bangs, I also got a bit of an asymmetrical and textured cut which I will go into detail in this post.

How To Use a Diffuser on Curly/Wavy Hair

Whenever I diffuse my hair I always get questions about the products that I'm using. I'm still using a lot of the same products and testing other ones, but the main difference is the way I'm drying my hair. When I'm in a hurry and don't want to leave the house (or film with wet hair), I'll just grab my hair dryer and diffuser and just dry my hair that way. Yes, that funky attachment with spikes that comes with a lot of hair dryers is actually used for something. The diffuser attachment will distribute heat much more evenly, so you won't look like a lion got electrecuted. The attachment will also encourage your hair to look more defined and create bouncier curls or waves. Big and bouncy curls in under 20 minutes? Count me in!

If you've followed my blog for a while, then you probably know that I'm completely obsessed with the Redken Frizz Dismiss products. Although they're not specifically for curly hair, I've found that the products work amazing at taming my frizzy curly hair. Because of that I had really high hopes for the newly relaunched Redken Curvaceous range. If you're a Redken fan, then you probably remember that the Curvaceous previously came in blue bottles but recently those were switched for these fun lime green bottles. I honestly had really high hopes for all the four Curvaceous products that I was sent, but unfortunately things didn't go my way this time around.

If you've followed my hair journey, then you would know that I've been fully embracing my curly hair ever since I grew out my pixie cut. And before I get another "your hair is not curly" comment, there are different variations of curly hair. Waves, loose curls, tight curls, and even natural hair are all considered curly hair. In the past I've been recommended higher end products for curly hair, but I've finally found something at the drugstore that works amazing. I've been playing around with the OGX Coconut Curls range for a few weeks now and I'm going to be reviewing the complete range just for you. The Best Dandruff Shampoo

For some reason dandruff is one of those topics that beauty bloggers tend to avoid or get embarrassed about. I honestly don't quite understand why people embarrassed about dandruff when it is quite a common thing for both men and women. I've tried a good number of dandruff shampoo throughout my life containing different active ingredients to treat the flakes and itchiness. I found that many of the dandruff shampoos were not effective when treating my itchiness and they would dry out my hair. It took a while to find my favorite dandruff shampoo but I think that I've finally found a winner!

Messy Short Hair

One of the biggest hair trends this year is messy textured hair and one of the biggest proponents of this style is hairstylist Anh Co Tran. I've mentioned Anh Co Tran a few times before and that's because I truly admire how he works with texture in the hair, in fact that's what he's known for. He coined the term "lived in" hair which is how he chooses to describe the messy but modern combination of waves and curls. The hairstyle is quite simple and foolproof, all it requires is one hair tool and a texturizing product to enhance your work. The messy look works really well with short hair but don't fret if your hair is longer than mine, this style will work amazing for you as well.

My Curly Hair Routine

Much like my skincare and everyday makeup routine, my hair routine is quite simple and minimal. I really don't like fussing with my hair, so all I do is add product and let it air dry. Despite that and having a hair routine video that I filmed last year, people still kept asking for another hair routine video. In this post I'll be showing you my updated hair routine using my favorite hair products for curly hair. This routine will work on any type of naturally curly hair, as well as wavy hair.

As you may or may not know, I got another haircut! At this point of my life, I'm a very proud member of the "short hair, don't care" club. Heck, I might even consider myself the president of that club since I love short hair so damn much. Short hair is so much fun, cool, and easy to take care of. It's no secret that I suck at styling my hair, hence why I don't really film hair tutorials. I'm just hair incompetent by now and the best I can ever do is using a hair tie or clip to keep my hair up. I'm quite minimal when it comes to hair, I just like applying some product and hoping for the best once it air dries. My New Haircut + Haircut Tips

If you've followed me these last 2 years, then you know how much I love short hair. I've had a bob, lob, pixie cut, and even rocked some awkward Justin Bieber hair for a few months. I absolutely love experimenting with haircuts because it's just so easy. One moment I can have medium-length hair, and then I can go and chop it all off. I honestly believe that my outlook on hair makes life that much more fun for me. As you can probably notice from this picture, I got a bob once again but this is no ordinary bob. Just wait till you see the back! Spoiler alert: I'm sort of hiding half of a pixie underneath the bob.

I've done pretty much everything to my hair- I've dyed it, cut it, straighten it, grown it back out, but I have never gotten a blow out. A few weeks ago Blo Blow Dry Bar opened a new location in Downtown, San Diego and I was invited to go check it out. The salon was ultra modern, clean, and girly- basically a girl's paradise. As soon as I walked in, I knew that this place was something else. When I got the chance to pick out which hairstyle I wanted, I went with the hairstyle that took me out of my "messy curly hair" comfort zone. I said "see ya later" to my messy curls and embraced some glamorous red carpet Beyoncé hair for a weekend. Not going to lie, I was totally digging the flowy hair.

My Everyday Hair Routine for Wavy/Curly Hair

You've asked for it, now I'm showing you exactly how low maintenance my hair routine actually is. I'm not even kidding when I say low maintenance, this routine takes from start to finish less than 4 minutes to do. I use less than 5 styling products, no fancy hair tools, and certainly not a blow dryer. This is perfect for girls who have a similar hair type, or those who frankly don't have the time to be spending more than 5 minutes on your hair. I like taking my time to do my makeup because... well that's my thing, plus I just enjoy embracing my hair's natural texture. Growing Out My Pixie Cut- The Conclusion

The time to end the "growing out my pixie cut" series has come. After 11 months I think it's time to wrap things up since I finally reached my desired hair length. I know I'm going to sound extremely cliché right now but time flew by during the past 11 months. I can still recall getting an asymmetrical back in January 2014 and then by my birthday I already had a bob. CRAZY! This last hair update was filmed in two parts: before my haircut in December and then almost a year after I decided to grow out my hair. You will get to see how my hair looked like at the beginning of December and how it looks like now. I will also let you know about the three important things that I learned throughout this whole hair journey.
