My New Haircut | Asymmetrical Bob with Bangs

The bangs are BACK! It has been a few year since I've rocked the bangs but I started feeling a bit too plain without them. Many of you probably started following me when I was bang-less, but I've had bangs for most of my life. I guess you can refer to bangs as my security blanket, or maybe you could even call them my all-time favorite accessory. Back in the day I used to straighten the shit out of my bangs, so I assumed that it would be near to impossible to rock bangs without feeling the need to use a straightener everyday. But let me tell you, having bangs with textured hair is more than possible. In fact, the bangs are perfect for my laziness because I literally just put product and let them air dry. Apart from the bangs, I also got a bit of an asymmetrical and textured cut which I will go into detail in this post.

Outfit of the Day | Lunch at El Agave Restaurant and Tequileria

Lunch at El Agave Restaurant and Tequileria
By know, I think most of you know how much I enjoy discovering new restaurants in San Diego. I'd say that it's one of my favorite things to do in my city, and when the opportunity came to collaborate with El Agave Restaurant and Tequileria in Old Town- I had to say yes! Food and styling a casual outfit? What's not to love? I decided to invite my mom to a casual lunch in Old Town and this is what I wore to our little mother-daughter lunch. You'll also get to see the "lunch of the day" which was really really great. You probably already heard me rave about the lunch if you follow me on Snapchat, but in case you didn't then you'll hear me rave about it in this post as well.

Neiman Marcus Fall/Winter 2016 Trends

Neiman Marcus Fall/Winter 2016 Trends
Last week Neiman Marcus in Fashion Valley hosted their semi-annual lunch to present the upcoming trends for fall and winter. The San Diego based bloggers and stylists were served a great lunch as the models walked down to show us all the different trends that we'll be seeing this upcoming season. I'm not much of a spring/summer person, but fall/winter fashion excites me so much. Bring on the dark colors, berry tones, and layers upon layers! I was also very happy to see some more trends that lend themselves to someone who isn't very girly like myself. I can definitely see myself rocking some moody fall florals or a sporty bomber jacket. Here's my recap of some of the trends that really caught my eye.

MAC Star Trek Comic Con Experience

MAC Star Trek Comic Con Experience
Last Friday I was invited by MAC to experience their Star Trek event outside of San Diego Comic Con and let me tell you, it was out of this world! The 4-day event was free to the public and consisted of four separate experiences inspired by four women in the Star Trek universe. There was an area where you could check out the whole collection and swatch your heart away, two areas where you could get a makeover, and there was also an area that resembled the Enterprise where you could purchase the collection weeks before it officially launches. Not only was I able to get my hands on a few things but I also got a intergalactic makeover by local MAC MUA Brad Crespo.

Found In San Diego | The Crack Shack

The Crack Shack
This past weekend I sadly became a crack addict, a Crack Shack addict to be exact. I have my parents to blame for this since they were the ones who enabled me to devour the dangerously delicious fried chicken. Normally I'm not this crazy about fried chicken, but I quickly learned that this ain't your run of the mill fried chicken that you can get at the drive-thru window. If you're into healthy meals like kale and quinoa salads or those fancy but gross detox drinks, then look away. This is the cheat meal to end all cheat meals, the comfort food that will magically get rid of any of your worries, and the meal that will create the most epic food baby.

Mother's Day at Las Americas Premium Outlets

Mother's Day at Las Americas Premium Outlets
Mother's Day is a only week away and if your mom is anything like mine, then chances are that she loves a good shopping trip. One of our all-time favorite places to go shopping in San Diego has been Las Americas Premium Outlets because of the wide array of stores and all the savings to be done. In this post I'm going to share some of our favorite shops to visit, as well as some of the activities you can expect to see if you visit Las Americas Premium Outlets on Mother's Day weekend! PS. There's also going to be a little giveaway for my local followers that you won't want to miss out. Hint hint.

Found in San Diego | Record City

Record City San Diego
As someone who grew up going to Tower Records once a week as a child, I've always enjoyed buying and collecting music. There's a few record stores in San Diego that I like, but my favorite by far is Record City in Hillcrest. I've been coming to Record City for around four years now and it's been my go-to record shop to support on Record Store Day. If you've been following my blog for some time, then you know how passionate I am about supporting local small businesses and this store combines both my love for music and small businesses. The store itself seems like it's stuck in the past, but that's exactly what I love about it. There is no fancy decor here, no pretentious employees who judge your taste in music, and no social media accounts to tag in your Instagram pictures- all you get is music and tons of it!

10 Makeup Tips I Learned from a Pro

A few days ago I was lucky enough to attend a bridal makeup class at the MAC Cosmetics store in Westfield Plaza Bonita. The teacher for this class was none other than the talented Gisel Calvillo, a MAC Senior Artist since 2003 who happens to be a very strong and passionate Mexican woman. Although the class was technically a bridal makeup course, the tips that were shared can work for every woman and any occasion. If you're a fan of using makeup to enhance your natural beauty, then you would have loved Gisel's tips. She's definitely a "less is more" type of girl who likes to create looks that will make a woman feel beautiful.

Found in San Diego | Carlsbad Premium Outlets

Carlsbad Premium Outlets
I still remember back when the Carlsbad Premium Outlets were the only outlets in San Diego county. My family would drive from Tijuana all the way up to Carlsbad in order to score some great deals at the factory stores, the trip would often take 3+ hours since the line at the border were ridiculously long in the 90's. Back then you had a decent selection of store such as GAP Factory and Banana Republic, but the Carlsbad Premium Outlets have really stepped up their game since then. If you're a beauty fan like myself, then this is the place to come splurge and save some money. I'm talking big luxury brands like Tom Ford, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Bobbi Brown, and YSL for 10-30% off! That's way more than waiting around for a Sephora VIB sale and these deals can be found everyday.

Found in San Diego | The Flower Fields

The Flower Fields
I think by now pretty much all of you know how proud I am to be from San Diego. I tend to mention my hometown in a lot of my posts because I absolutely love it here, but now I've decided to start a new blog post series to highlight some of my favorite places and areas in San Diego. To kick off this series, I'm going to share the stunning Flower Fields that are only open for a few months out of the year. You might remember The Flower Fields from a post I did last year, but this time around I got to see more of the fields and learn about the variety of events held here. Whether you have a family or not, this is a fantastic place to visit and release your inner flower child.

My New Haircut | Short Choppy Bob

Short Choppy Bob
As you may or may not know, I got another haircut! At this point of my life, I'm a very proud member of the "short hair, don't care" club. Heck, I might even consider myself the president of that club since I love short hair so damn much. Short hair is so much fun, cool, and easy to take care of. Plus, any cut that will enhance my curly hair is definitely a winner in my book. This time around I wanted to play around with more layers so I went with a very interesting choppy bob. You might be wondering what makes this bob so different, but don't worry because I will explain it all to you.

Neiman Marcus Spring/Summer 2016 Trends

Neiman Marcus Spring/Summer 2016 Trends
Last Wednesday several San Diego based bloggers and stylists got together at Neiman Marcus in Fashion Valley to see the upcoming trends for spring and summer. We were served a delicious meal and got to see some incredible pieces on the models. As someone with more of a tomboy style, I got super happy to see blazers and bomber jackets get some attention. Apart from seeing all the upcoming trends for women, we also got to see a few for men which was new for me since I honestly don't know much about male oriented trends. I tried my best to capture the looks both in picture and video, so I hope you enjoy my fashion recap.

December Nights at Balboa Park

On the first weekend of December, Balboa Park transforms itself into a winter wonderland. December Nights is an annual 3-day festival that brings people together to celebrate the holidays, history, culture, and joy. As part of the festivities, the museums at Balboa Park are free of charge and there's also a lot of other free activities for the whole family to enjoy. December Nights is by far my favorite time to visit Balboa Park, so I grabbed my mom and we went to the festival to check out all the beautiful holiday decor. It was crazy packed as usual, but we got to do some different things this year like ride one of the fair rides and take a selfie with the giant Christmas tree!

Small Business Saturday 2015

Now that we've all done some damage on Black Friday, it's time to go out and support the local business in your community. Having previously worked for a small business that sold items from various small businesses in San Diego, I quickly developed a real passion for Small Business Saturday. In this post I'm going to be sharing a few Small Business Saturdays deals, as well as some cool online and Etsy shops that you should totally check out. Bonus: If you live in San Diego, make sure to show some love to a few of the local businesses listed in this post.

Kaaboo Diary | Pictures + Vlog

A few weeks ago I attended the very first Kaaboo music and arts festival in Del Mar. This was an odd festival for me because I honestly bought my pass on a whim after seeing that The Killers were headlining the festival. As far as the rest of the lineup, I thought it was alright but it definitely didn't compare to Coachella or Outside Lands. During the months leading up to the festival I began to regret buying the pass, something that has never happened to me in the past. The management was definitely a lot more focused on ripping people off, even more than the Street Scene festival which faded into existence after 2009. Thankfully I was able to make the best out of a bad situation, but I'm unsure if I'll attend next year's festival.

San Diego Beauty Bloggers

After months of wanting to start a beauty blogger and vlogger community in San Diego, I finally sat down and did it. I've been so incredibly thankful for all the opportunities and friendships that have come my way because of San Diego Style Bloggers and I want to do something similar for the beauty community. While the style community has become a lot more tight-knit, the beauty community is still very distant. I'm constantly finding new beauty bloggers both big and small and with this community I'm hoping to bring everyone together.

Daiso Grand Opening in San Diego

Daiso Grand Opening in San Diego
This past weekend was the grand opening of the newest Daiso in San Diego! If you follow my vlog channel, then you know how much I love Daiso. And how can you not love it? You can find everything from scrapbook supplies to every nail polish color in the rainbow inside the massive store. To top it off, almost everything is $1.50. Yes, you read that correctly $1.50! That means that you can have a (semi) guilt-free shopping spree whenever you go to the store. I actually have my boyfriend to blame for my Daiso weakness, he started taking me to the stores in Orange County earlier this year but now I finally have one that's closer to me. The city of San Diego now has two Daiso locations: one in Mira Mesa (which is really far away from me) and the newest one in Kearny Mesa. I took some pictures from the grand opening this Saturday that I want to share with all of you.

My New Haircut + Haircut Tips

My New Haircut
If you've followed me these last 2 years, then you know how much I love short hair. I've had a bob, lob, pixie cut, and even rocked some awkward Justin Bieber hair for a few months. I absolutely love experimenting with haircuts because it's just so easy. One moment I can have medium-length hair, and then I can go and chop it all off. I honestly believe that my outlook on hair makes life that much more fun for me. As you can probably notice from this picture, I got a bob once again but this is no ordinary bob. Just wait till you see the back! Spoiler alert: I'm sort of hiding half of a pixie underneath the bob.

Love Tatum's Dinner in the Garden

Love Tatum's Dinner in the Garden
I feel like I talk about Love Tatum and wear her jewelry so much on both my blogs and YouTube channels. Can you blame me though? Her jewelry is stunning and Tatum herself has an incredibly beautiful soul. I feel extremely lucky to know her and get to absorb as much wisdom as I can from her. Tatum is a complete pro when it comes to networking and building relationships with brands, bloggers, and stylists in the area. In order to help introduce the people she's met throughout the years, she and her wonderful team organized a beautiful dinner complete with delicious food and Pinterest-worthy decor. I swear that everything from the drinks, to the silverware just screamed #goals to me.

Match + Wella “Love is in the Hair”

Match + Wella “Love is in the Hair”
Getting ready for a first date can be tough! If you're anything like me then you're indecisive and don't know how you want to present yourself to a potential significant other. I feel confident in the makeup departments because I feel like my everyday neutral eye and muted rose lipstick would be perfect for a first date. As for my outfit, I would most likely take forever to pick out something but I would settle for something that look dressy and feels comfortable. Now hair is a whole different ballgame. I am horrible at styling my hair, hence why I embrace my crazy natural hair. If I were to show up at a first date with my wild hair I would feel like I'm giving off the wrong impression though. Would the other person think that I didn't care? Well Match.com and Wella have partnered up to help girls such as myself. Together they've organized fun mixers across the country which allow women to achieve the perfect first date-ready hair.
