WHERE HAVE I BEEN?!?

This might be the catchiest title and best thumbnails that I've come up with.

Life Update

Despite being sharing a lot of my life online to complete strangers around the world, I'm still quite a private person. I rarely talk about how I'm feeling, relationships, and personal problems to anyone- let alone the internet. This time around, I felt like talking about a few of the things that have been going on in my life recently. I know I've alluded to having a bad summer in a few blog posts now, but in this post you will find out a little bit more about why this particular summer has been a challenging one for me.

Q&A #3: Travel, YouTube, & My Teenage Years

It was about time I did another general Q&A on my YouTube channel and you guys asked some amazing questions. They were so good that I would often burst out into story mode and that's how this video ended up being 24 minutes long. Sorry about that! I just felt like this video wouldn't had been the same with very short answers, so I hope you all enjoy getting to know me a little bit better. Also stay tuned till the end of the video for a little surprise.

Photoshop and Body Image in the Blogging World

Photoshop and Body Image in the Blogging World
By now I think we all know how heavily photoshopped images are on magazines, advertisements, and major online publications, that's one of the many reasons why the blogging world exploded in recent years. And I can definitely see the appeal of bloggers because like many of you reading this, I'm also someone who spends a lot of time reading and following bloggers. One of the things that is becoming more and more apparent in the blogging community is the desperate need to be skinny and perfect, which isn't anything new but this is coming from people often get seen as "normal" women. Not only are bloggers using photoshop to alter their bodies, but some of them will even turn to phone apps like FaceTune to get the appearance of unrealistically smooth skin which no one has. In this post I'm going to be voicing my opinion about photoshop in the blogging world, as well as talking about body image. Little known fact, the blogging world is very much like going back to high school.

Is Social Media Fake?

Is Social Media Fake?
Ever since Australian blogger and YouTuber, Essena O'Neill, published her heartfelt video about why she quit social media there's been a conversation about whether or not social media is fake. I've seen many people discredit O'Neill's claims and experiences, but to be honest no one but her knows what she went through. To most of us social media provides us with a platform to share our interests and meet people, but we also have to be completely honest with ourselves and admit that there are aspects that are a little fake. I was recently tagged to participate in the Stripped Down Challenge, which is a series of videos aiming to prove that social media is in fact not fake. The video contains over 10 minutes of raw, unfiltered, and unedited footage about my thoughts about social media and Essena O'Neill. Unlike other people who have participated in this challenge, I will not be bashing O'Neill for her own personal experience about the topic.

Top 15 Memories of 2015 and Goals for 2016

Happy New Year, everyone! As my first video and blog post of the year, I decided to make a chatty video about my favorite memories of 2015. I thought it would be so much fun to share the moments that meant a lot to me and those that I was really proud of. You'll also be hearing some of my personal and YouTube/blogging goals for 2016 in this video. If you're one of the people who wants to see a room tour or makeup collection video, I'm making it a goal of mine to get around to posting both of those videos in 2016. Celebrating My Latino Pride Through Beauty

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Orgullosa and Latina Bloggers Connect. The opinions and text are all mine.
Celebrating My Latino Pride Through Beauty
Today's blog post will not be a review about the latest mascara launch or an another outfit of the day featuring pieces from my capsule wardrobe, today I'm going to talk about my Latino heritage. I am incredibly proud of my Latin heritage and I make sure to show it off whenever I can. To me, I'm not just a beauty blogger -- I am a Mexican-American and a bilingual content creator. I am what I would like to refer as the modern Latina. The modern Latina is a woman who is not afraid to march to the beat of her own drum and venture to the unknown, and I'm certainly not afraid of either of those things. With Hispanic Heritage month here, I want to share how I honor my heritage and celebrate our beautiful Latin culture through this beauty blog that you've all come accustomed to. There's a lot more to beauty bloggers than meets the eye, that's all I will say.

Exciting Changes Coming Soon!

The month of August has been a crazy one so far! First I ventured out to San Francisco for my third consecutive Outside Lands, and now I'm back to some home renovations. We're doing things on a much smaller scale this time, but one of the rooms that will be changing is my bedroom! This whole week I'm going to focus on my room makeover and I will try my best to document at least two of the DIY's that I'll be doing. One of the biggest changes that you'll immediately see in videos is the wall color. Say goodbye to the yellow walls! Did you know that yellow used to be my favorite color? Seeing the color everyday for 3 years definitely changed my opinion for the worst, so I'm extremely happy to be going back to plain ol' white (aka the "boring" color according to my mom). Due to my shift in focus, my blog will be taking a little breather for the rest of this week. I am going to be working all week long so I can finish and get back to blogging as soon as possible! I'm hoping to have my room entirely done by Sunday at the latest. Thank you all for your support and I can't wait to show you my new room! Make sure to check out the progress on my Snapchat: @lauraneuzeth.

2014 My Year in Review

2014 My Year in Review
2014 was truly a spectacular year for me. While I still consider myself a rookie in the blog and YouTube world, I'm still very proud of what I got to accomplish this year. This year I pushed myself very hard to run two blogs, two YouTube channels, and a little vlog channel. It wasn't the easiest task in the world (especially once I got a job) but I still kept pushing myself because it's something that I really enjoy. 2014 was also the year that I got to meet a few of the people who watch my videos, the year that I got to give back to those who follow me, and the year that I got to connect with people around the world. It was a magical year filled with a hair transformation, makeup discoveries, and a lot of amazing concerts.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I survived the craziness that is working retail during the holidays. Can I get a "aww yeah"? AWW YEAH! Christmas is my favorite holiday and I always love wishing other people a Merry Christmas, so I'm continuing my tradition of recording Christmas messages. I am very thankful for all of you who read my blog and watch my videos, but especially all of you who have been incredibly patient with me as of late. In this year's video I just started rambling (as always) but at least you'll get to see my makeup! There's also a cyber hug coming your way just in time for Christmas.

Being An Introverted Blogger

You may think I'm an extrovert because of all the blogger events that I attend but in reality I'm an introvert. Going to any kind of event takes a lot of effort on my part, but I know that there's a lot of positive things that come with being social once in a while. I've have the opportunity to meet some great blogger friends and also network in the blogging community by attending events. If you follow me on Twitter then you may have seen that I got overwhelmed at a recent shopping event which triggered my anxiety. The reason why I'm even sharing this in the first place is because I've had that day's vlog sitting in my channel unpublished because I've been scared to post it. Introverts are very misunderstood so I felt like finally posting something about it in hopes that someone will relate to this.

Merry Christmas!

It is Christmas Eve, the night when my family does our dinner and gift exchange. I am currently waiting for my family to arrive so I decided to record two short video messages wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. I hope you all have an amazing Christmas with your loved ones. Cherish every moment you have with your family as if it was your last. Also be appreciative of everything you have and the things you will be given. I also want to thank you all once again for everything because this year has been magical all thanks to all the lovely people I've met through blogging. I wish you all the very best in life, thank you for everything.

My 24th Birthday

I know, I know... I've been slacking when it comes to vlogging so today I finally sat myself down so I could edit my birthday vlog. The last weeks of December are always very busy for everyone including myself and as much as blogging and YouTube have become part of my life, I also have days when I was to just hang out with my family just like everyone else. I already told many of you on Facebook that there might not be as many blog post and videos in the next two weeks because I'll be spending time with my family, but for the meantime there is this vlog that I filmed on my birthday.

Happy 24th Birthday To Me!

Today is my birthday! I am now in my mid 20's which is kind of exciting and a little scary at the same time. I managed to accomplish quite a bit as a 23 year-old. I finally got my degree in French and Francophone Studies, co-wrote bilingual (French/English) case studies which will be published very soon, started this blog, managed four YouTube channels, and I made a ton of great new friends. I also went to a lot of great places such as Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival, up the California coast, and even to Fashion Week San Diego. I hope to accomplish even more things as a 24 year-old and be able to share them with you. To celebrate you'll be seeing 24 pictures of me- some are normal and others just show how much of a derp I am.

What I'm Thankful for This Year

If someone would had told me at the beginning of this year that I would be blogging, making videos, and meeting countless of amazing people along the way I would had thought he/she was absolutely crazy. The second half of 2012 was really tough for me. I had come back from studying abroad and reverse culture shock hit me so bad that I felt like a stranger in my own city and house. I felt severely disconnected from everyone and everything, even myself. All of that contributed to my life spiraling downwards until I fell back into depression. It was a horrible time filled with confusion, tears, and a couple of panic attacks here and there. Once 2013 started I promised myself that I needed to make changes, some of them weren't going to be easy but it was crucial for me to take some risks if I wanted to happy.

San Diego Style Bloggers Interview

Hi everyone! You all know by now that I'm a member of the San Diego Style Bloggers community and last week I got asked to become the first vlogger featured on the website and I said "YES!" I got asked a few questions regarding YouTube, my first video, vlogging vs. blogging, and how I handle the haters. Here's the link to the interview if you wish to read it. I would love to see some of my readers and subscribers go and leave a comment, I think that would be amazing. Also I would like to thank both my subscribers and my readers for all the support. I recently reached 500 subscribers on YouTube and now have 400 Facebook likes and Instagram followers which just blows my mind. Thank you so much for everything, it honestly means so much to me.

Let me know what you thought of the interview in the comments below. I'd love to hear what you thought of it.

Why I got a pixie cut

I'm definitely one of those people who are not afraid to change up their look. I've had my hair pretty much at every length and also dyed plenty of times since high school. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you already saw my latest haircut, but for the rest of you, this is now my hair. After years of wanting to get a pixie cut, I finally got the courage to sport the short hairstyle. Why the sudden change of heart?

Meeting Phoenix

I know not many know but I'm a contributor on the Tumblr page ilovephoenix. Its been something that I've been a part of for three years now which is crazy and what's crazier is that Phoenix know about the site. I was fortunate to see them yesterday at a little private show at the KROQ studio in Los Angeles and even more fortunate to be able to talk to them. I wrote a little more about it on ilovephoenix so click here if you're interested.

This is the first blog post

What a creative title, right? I'm all about being super creative with my titles, and by creative I mean pretty lame titles. When it comes to my posts its what's on the inside that counts, a.k.a. the content.

Maybe I should start off introducing myself....

Hi, I'm Laura Neuzeth and I am a girl with girly interests such as makeup and fashion. I'm not a pink girl so it'll be rare occassion if you see me in pink. The only pink I can handle is pink blush and lipstick.
