Minimal Jewelry

Minimal Jewelry
You may or may not know that my style has been changing in the recent year and I've been embracing a more minimal style. As much as I love a good statement necklace once in a while, I personally prefer very dainty pieces for everyday use. In this blog post I'm going to be sharing some of my favorite places to get some minimal jewelry. If you're more of a silver girl then you can find similar items in silver but as a gold lover the majority of products will be gold.

Outfit of the Day | Effortlessly Minimal

Outfit of the Day | Effortlessly Minimal
Over the past few months my wardrobe has been transitioning from loud colors and prints to a more minimal style. I've been embracing clothes with different silhouettes and a color palette that would please any Parisian out there. I have been admiring the minimalist style for a few years now, but I never thought it would fit a girl like me because I am not exactly stick thin. In more recent months I've discovered that style doesn't have anything to do with the size of your clothes, if you like something then wear it. This more dark and minimal style just suits me at this point of my life and whenever I wear something along these lines it just feels very effortless. Isn't that what everyday style is supposed to be?

Outfit of the Day | Lucky Fabb West 2014

Lucky Fabb West 2014
I'm finally back from a very fun weekend in Los Angeles. I'm currently very tired but Lucky Fabb was so much fun. I got to meet so many great bloggers, get inspired, and enjoy a mini break from my day-to-day routine. The first day of Lucky Fabb consisted of the sessions so I made sure to choose something comfortable that would reflect my personal style. The dress I'm wearing actually belonged to my mom. She was cleaning out her closet when I spotted the dress and decided to keep it for myself. Let's just say that I'm very happy I "stole" this from my mom because I love the dress.

Outfit of the Day | Battle Born

Last month I bought these really cool velvet combat boots on Hautelook and didn't even think of a way to wear them. Sometimes I tend to just get things without even thinking about how I'm going to wear them. While I was getting dressed this Killers shirt caught my eye (because I've been on a huge Killers kick lately) and then I realized that it would be the perfect companion to the boots. Boy was I right! Now if only The Killers would have a show in the States, I wish I could wear this to one of their shows...

Outfit of the Day | The Blue Plaid Shirt

As I told you in the last lifestyle post, I try to dress as comfortably as possible whenever I take the train. I've dressed cute in the past to visit my boyfriend and I've learned my lesson that sitting around on the train doesn't care if I look cute or not. I mostly stick to comfortable tops, jeans, and boots whenever I go see him because I might want to take a nap on the way back. When I was picking out my outfit at 5am this plaid shirt I bought years ago was begging to be worn again. Since it was quite chilly at 5am I just grabbed it since I knew I could just roll up my sleeves if it got hotter during the day. I know I'm late to the plaid game but a comfortable shirt can honestly be worn year round.

Outfit of the Day | Downtown

Downtown is one of my favorite areas in San Diego because I can get a taste of what it's like in a big city. San Diego is overall a pretty laid back area comprised of various beach cities, Indian reservations, ranches, and a lot of suburbs. I enjoy Downtown a lot because I get a little of the hustle and bustle that I enjoy, there's always interesting characters on the streets, and a variety of buildings for me to admire. To match my surroundings I decided to wear something that is effortlessly cool (well at least I think it looks cool).

Outfit of the Day | Wine Tasting in Temecula

On Sunday the limo company Aall In Limo hosted a couple of San Diego fashion, food, and travel bloggers on one of their wine tours in Temecula. The last time I went to a wine tour I was only a teen so all I got to taste in Napa were sparkling juices. This time around I'm in my 20's and accompanied by some of my great bloggers friends. This is the first post of a little two-part series showing you what we did during the amazing wine tour.

Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas

Valentine's Day is almost here and with that comes the hard decision of figuring out what you're going to wear. You can either go dress up for your significant other if you're planning a romantic night out, or dress down if you're going to be having a casual night or going out with your friends. If I were doing something I'd probably wear the casual look since it has a subtle touch of red, plus it's definitely a lot more "me."

Outfit of the Day | December Nights

Last Friday I attended my first ever December Nights at Balboa Park. It is a two-day celebration held at Balboa Park (the area that houses many of San Diego's museums and also the zoo). There's a lot of food, gifts to buy, music, and free activities for the family during December Nights. Most of the museums were free that day which made me really happy, and you get to walk around and see the park completely decorated in lights. I'm going to share with you the outfit I choose to wear to December nights. It isn't the most holiday-ish outfit but I just really wanted somewhere to wear my holographic shoes out.

Haul | Urban Outfitters, Jordana, Sally Hansen + ANNOUNCEMENT

Soooo... I have another haul. What can I say? After that wishlist I had a serious case of the shopping bug. And as you saw in my wishlist I showcased a couple of very metallic shoes and look what I found- a pair of metallic and holographic shoes! I also have a couple of makeup bits in this video so if you're interested just keep watching. Also Spanish speakers you might want to keep reading for my big announcement. :-)

Outfit of the Day | Viva México

On Monday Mexicans around the world celebrated Mexico's Independence Day! I was lucky enough to have been invited to a party hosted by Don Julio at the Junípero Serra Museum in San Diego which I had never gone to. At the event there were a lot of tacos, tequila, and of course great music courtesy Tijuana's own Nortec Collective. If you want to see more pictures of the event, as well as a little vlog just keep reading.

Outfit of the Day | The Girly Girl Dress

If you've followed my blog for a couple of months or know me personally, then you know I'm not very girly per say. I will always choose jeans and loafers over a dress and heels, but there was something about this Zara dress that I loved. Maybe it was the fact that it felt like a shirt, or the fact that it actually fit really nice on my body. Whatever the reason it may be all I know is that I made a good purchase because this is the perfect dress for the extremely hot days here in SoCal.

Outfit of the Day | Watts Towers

This past Sunday I got the chance to visit the Watts Towers with my boyfriend. I have to admit I hadn't heard of them since I'm not from the area, but I'm very glad I got to see Simon Rodia's work in person. I honestly couldn't believe that an older man built the towers predominantly by himself and with absolutely no special equipment. Everything from the story to the actual towers was absolutely incredible.

Outfit of the day | Casual in Tijuana

One more week of school left till Spring Break! YESS! This past weekend I went down to Tijuana to take my chow chow, Buster, to the vet and also see my grandmother. Since the whole outing was very laid back, I decided to keep things pretty casual and comfortable. Unfortunately this post will be shorter than others because my mom really doesn't know how to use an DSLR (durp!).

Nails of the Day | Matte Nails for Spring

I have a little obsession with both matte and pastel colors so this polish satisfies both of my obsessions. While its not green as the bottle suggests, I still adore the color. I would say this is very similar to the Tiffany blue and while I'm not a Tiffany's type of girl I do love a nice blue blue polish on my nails ...

Outfit of the Day | Thrifty Lady

On Saturday my family and I went to Tijuana to celebrate my dad's birthday. The fancy-ish dinner provided me with the perfect opportunity to wear some of the items I bought on Friday when I went thrifting with my boyfriend. I may dislike birthdays but if it requires me to dress up then I'm ok with them. What can I say? I'm a sucker for dressing up, even if I just feel like a derp pretending to be a lady.

Outfit of the day | Ed Banger 10th Anniversary

On Friday the French electronic music record label, Ed Banger, celebrated their 10th anniversary with a huge party in Paris named Ed Bangerland. Unfortunately I was not in Paris for the festivities which made me so sad that I refused to watch the live webcast. Sad I know, but you try missing a place as much as I miss Paris. Alright, back to Ed Banger... To celebrate their 10th year anniversary I decided to wear my Justice tour t-shirt! Keep reading the post to see what else I wore on my very casual Sunday.
