The spring makeup launches are finally here! I swear that time of the year almost feel like Christmas for beauty lovers like myself. Everywhere you go from the drugstore, to Sephora there's displays showcasing the latest trends and beauty innovations. I know I told myself that I didn't "need" any makeup, but screw it- I just want to try out new products! What's the point of makeup if you can't have a little fun with it, right? In this latest "Playing With New Makeup" I'll be trying pore blurring powder, a silicone sponge, and a primer that oddly enough smells like a sugary cereal that I love.

Get Ready With Me: Blogger Lunch
This past Wednesday I was invited by Neiman Marcus to attend their fall trends presentation and lunch. If you've been following me for a while, then you know that I've been going to these trend presentations ever since I had a pixie cut and they're one of my favorite events held in San Diego. As a blogger you always have to look and feel good when going to one of these events, especially this one that's all about upcoming trends. Now I'm not the trendiest when it comes to fashion, but makeup is another story. I'm desperately waiting for fall right now so I can start to wear my dark and berry lipsticks on a more regular basis. Plus it would be really nice not looking like an oil slick anymore. In this post you're going to see a quick "Get Ready with Me," as well as some of the looks from the presentation.

Lip Liners for Spring
Once upon a time I was not a fan of lip liners, in fact I thought they were a complete waste of time. Well things have certainly changed quite a lot since then and now I have a pretty decent sized lip liner collection. You don't even want to know how many browny nudes lip liners I have, because it's honestly a bit embarrassing at this point. Since I've developed quite a love affair with lip liners as of late, I've decided to dedicate a full post to five of my favorite lip liners for spring. And yes, the browny nudes colors will be making an appearance in this post.
Review | Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color
I know many people are starting to get tired of the matte lip trend, but I'm personally still loving matte liquid lipsticks. Any product that will last pretty much the whole day is a winner in my book, and I think I might have discovered the best drugstore offering. The new Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color come in 12 different shades ranging from sweet pink shades, to daring purples. These liquid lipsticks are not only incredibly affordable but they can really hold up well along their much pricier counterparts.
Radiant Makeup Tutorial
As much as I go on and on about keeping things matte, sometimes even someone like myself can appreciate a nice and healthy glow. In today's tutorial I'm going to show you how easy it is to achieve a radiant makeup look without looking like a greasy mess. I actually wore this makeup look in my L'Oréal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation review and I got so many requests to recreate this particular look. As simple as this look may be, I didn't have anything like this in my channel which surprised me quite a bit considering my makeup style. Plus this would make for such a pretty Valentine's Day look since that's right around the corner!

Makeup for Sick Days
It's flu/cold season and I know that sometimes you're forced to go outside, whether it's for school or work. While you may feel like crap, there are some simple steps you can take so you look your best. I wasn't even planning on filming something like this until I caught a cold myself. When I woke up this past Tuesday I felt like just staying in bed the whole day, but instead of doing that I decided to make the best of it and record an impromptu tutorial. I mainly focused on evening out my face and lifting certain areas with light diffusing products so I wouldn't look as sick as I felt. The end result is a natural look that doesn't feel heavy on the skin whatsoever. Hopefully these quick and simple steps will help you show the cold who's boss!
Style Swap with Its Halo
If I had to describe my makeup style, I would say it's natural and very wearable. I like to keep things neutral so I can wear a bright coral or red lip. My friend Alo of Its Halo is the complete opposite from me, she loves color and lots of drama. I've been YouTube friends with her for over a year now and her looks always leave me with my jaw open. She's incredibly talented, creative, and not afraid to experiment with color. We've collaborated once before when we did the Decades Collab but we wanted to do another collab as bilingual YouTubers. She's one of the very few people I know that also does videos and blog posts in English and Spanish, so there's definitely a special connection right there. If you want to see us swap makeup styles then just keep reading this post!
Mixed Up Makeup Challenge
I'm sure you were scared by this image, I know I was. Let me introduce you to this weird challenge video that will guarantee a hot mess look everytime. The Mixed Up Makeup Challenge is quite a popular video in the Spanish speaking community, in fact I was tagged by three people- that's how popular it is. The rules are simple, you will have one cup with little strips of paper with the makeup products that you use on your face. The other cup will hold strips of paper with the parts of your face written on them. All you have to do is get a strip of paper from each cup and then apply said product on whatever part of your face that the other strip says. Sometimes you may get lucky, but most times you'll end up getting something extremely weird like the mascara as a lip liner that I had to unfortunately apply. If you want to see me look like a hot mess, then this video is for you!

April 2015 Favorites
Ahhhhhhh... It's gonna be May! Well it already technically is May, but I just felt like starting off a blog post with that because I'm a 90's kid for life. Before we begin a brand new month of beauty discoveries and rediscoveries, it is time to look back the my most-used products in the month of April. There's a good mix of new and familiar products, as well as drugstore and high-end makeup. And how pretty is the flower arrangement? An event planner dropped it off after an event finished up outside of work and now I get to use it to make my pictures much more springy.

Chatty Makeup Tuturial using the Soothingsista x Memebox Palette
I've always enjoyed watching chatty makeup tutorials but have never actually filmed one because of how challenging it would be. In case you didn't know, I have two YouTube channels and two blogs in order to be a bilingual bloggers. That means that I do everything twice- yes, twice. A few days ago I was just in the mood to get ready and talk to the camera so I did that. Not going to lie, it was a pain to edit but I'm happy with the result. In this video I'm going to show you how I used the SoothingSista x Memebox #EYELOVESF Quad to achieve this look. If you want to see this look (plus some dorky pictures of me from high school) just click below to watch the video.

February 2015 Favorites
I'm a little late to the February favorites party but better late than never. In February I got to try out many new product but only the ones mentioned truly blew my mind. You might see some items that you've heard me talk about in past favorites but that just goes to show how much I really like them. When it comes to my favorites if I keep reaching for the same product on a regular basis, then I'm going to keep mentioning it until I either get bored or find something better. As much as I want to expose my audience to brand new products in each favorites videos, the true monthly staples are always the ones who make the cut.

Outfit of the Day | Abstract
Back to back prints on my blog? What is going on?!? I'm really making an effort to add even the slightest bit of color into my wardrobe this year. I purchased this top back during Zara's big sale in January, which is my favorite time to go shop at Zara. The top reminded me a lot of an abstract painting, like one of the many that I had to memorize when I took art history in college. I consider this my ode to art history class, one of my favorite classes I took in college despite feeling like my interpretations were just a bunch of gibberish.
Neutral Valentine's Day Look
Valentine's Day makeup usually feature red lips and rosy cheeks but this is no ordinary Valentine's Day look. As you may know I've been a fan of neutrals for a while, but recently my love for neutrals has reached an all-time high. You may recognize this makeup look if you follow me on Instagram because it was the same look that I wore on Christmas Eve. For me this is a perfect look for any occasion because you can wear anything without having to ask yourself "will this go with my outfit?" This makeup tutorial is in collaboration with Betzy of the channel Betzy Carmona so if you want to see a more sultry look for Valentine's Day just go ahead and watch her incredible tutorial. Now let's take out all the neutral makeup from your collection and let's get started.

Review | Jordana Blush Powder
Jordana is one of the drugstore makeup brands that is so incredibly underrated. There isn't anything flashy about the brand- no fancy packaging, no celebrity spokesperson, or elaborate displays. This is a brand that can be found in the smallest areas in select Walgreens and Kmart locations. If you're anything like me, then you have probably walked by Jordana plenty of times because nothing really stands out. There are some amazing hidden gems in their collection and today I want to introduce you to their blushes.
Unsung Heroes at the Drugstore
We all know that there's some great products sold at the drugstore. While some products get a lot of rave reviews, there's some amazing products that not too many people talk about. Today I'm going to be sharing with you some of my favorite products that I haven't heard too much about. If you're looking for some new items to try from the drugstore then just keep reading.

Outfit of the Day | Battle Born
Last month I bought these really cool velvet combat boots on Hautelook and didn't even think of a way to wear them. Sometimes I tend to just get things without even thinking about how I'm going to wear them. While I was getting dressed this Killers shirt caught my eye (because I've been on a huge Killers kick lately) and then I realized that it would be the perfect companion to the boots. Boy was I right! Now if only The Killers would have a show in the States, I wish I could wear this to one of their shows...

Top 10 Under $5
Shhh... I want to tell you all a little secret: I absolutely love drugstore makeup! Drugstore makeup has really come such a long way. I remember back when drugstore makeup was synonymous with non-pigmented eyeshadows, foundation formulas that would make you break out, and glitter- glitter everywhere! The drugstore has certainly learned to adapt some well loved high end textures and finishes, which is great for those of us who can't indulge ourselves with high end makeup all the time. In some cases I even prefer the drugstore version because the product just outperforms the more expensive version. A lot of you suggested me to do more "top 5" videos but in this case I went with a "top 10" because it was way too hard to narrow it down to just 5 products.
Tutorial | Easy Holiday Look
It's day 3 of holiday week! Today I have a very easy holiday makeup look perfect for a casual Christmas or holiday party. It is a very simple and quick tutorial for those that don't have a lot of time to get ready. I actually worse this to my grandmother's birthday yesterday except I changed the lips so they could match my orange sweater. On Friday I'm going to have a more glam makeup option for those who want to look like a goddess on Christmas.
