San Diego Style Bloggers Meet Up at Bottles & Wood

San Diego Style Bloggers Meet Up at Bottles & Wood
Earlier this month I got the opportunity to attend the San Diego Style Bloggers meet up at Bottles & Wood. Due to my work schedule I haven't been able to attend many meet ups, so you can only imagine how happy I was when I saw that I could go to this. No more living vicariously through my Instagram feed! Well, at least not this time around. Not only was I excited to meet all the new faces popping up on the San Diego Style Bloggers' Instagram, but I really wanted to see how glass bottles are repurposed into jewelry, glassware, and home decor. As a bonus, we all got to make our own necklaces or earrings made out of various alcohol and soda bottles!

Here we have wine and Belvedere vodka bottles that were cut to form bangles. This is how they look before they melt down and get that smooth finish.

Here's are all the future bangles, pendants, and trays ready to be melted down. The temperature will vary on the type of glass that is put into the kiln.

Here's the very simple necklace that I assembled. The larger white pendant is made out of Jack Daniels bottle and the smaller blue pendant is made out of Bombay Sapphire. I decided to layer the two pieces because I loved how the matte white looked against a shiny light blue pendant. I will probably change up the chain into something gold though (surprise, surprise).

In this vlog you'll get to see a little more from the meet up, as well as get a behind the scenes look at how the bottles are repurposed. Oh, and you'll also get to see Bowie (my Maltipoo puppy).

I would like to thank Bottles and Wood and Be Social PR for organizing this fun meet up! It was great meeting all the new faces in our blogging community and making my own little necklace. I also have a coupon code for you! If you want to get your own repurposed glassware or necklaces from Bottles and Wood don't forget to use the code SDSTYLE for a discount!
