My Routine For Beautiful Confidence

Bliss products
Most often than not losing weight before summer equals to women worrying about bikini season. For me that's the last thing I'm worrying about. Beauty confidence is all about feeling great, looking healthy, and making lifestyle changes. It's no secret that my weight goes up and down, and that can be certainly be seen in this blog. At my heaviest I was almost 200 pounds and the lightest I've been in recent years has been 145 pounds. I'm in no way ashamed about my body at the moment, but I do know that I need to get fit in order to be more healthy and avoid any knee problems in the future. Recently I've been making small lifestyle changes such as cutting down on my eating portions and incorporating some light exercise into my routine. Making lifestyle changes isn't the easiest thing but thankfully I have two Bliss products that are going give me a helping hand during this journey.

April 2014 Favorites

April Favorites
This monthly favorites is certainly a colorful one as you can tell from the picture above. If there is a theme for this month's favorites it would definitely be low-maintenance products. All the makeup bits that I've been loving recently are not only colorful but very fuss-free. Since the weather has been getting quite hot lately I've been opting for things that are quick, simple, and look very natural on my skin. I also have to share with you some of my favorite skincare items because there's a few stuff that have been really helping me combat my oily skin.

April 2014 Playlist

In April one band kept me dancing all month long (although I'm one of the stiffest dancers in the world) and that band was Chromeo! I was introduced to Chromeo back when I was in high school and they've been one of my favorite electrofunk acts for years. Although I didn't go to Coachella I still found myself watching certain bands on the webcast and one of the bands I couldn't miss was Chromeo. It's safe to say they were one of the best acts at Coachella and thanks to their great performance now I'm impatiently waiting to see them again at Outside Lands this August.

Spring Foundation Routine for Oily Skin

Spring Foundation Routine for Oily Skin
Spring is here and if you're anything like me it already feels like summer where you live. The last thing I want to wear during the warmer days is a face full of makeup so that's why I opt for mineral makeup instead. With mineral makeup it often feels like it's not doing anything and then suddenly your face looks more even and flawless. It's like magic! The more you buff, the more your skin starts looking really good. In my latest tutorial I'll be showing you my very simple face routine which will give you a very natural and fresh look.

Review | Sephora Cream Lip Stain

Sephora Cream Lip Stain Review
When I heard Amelia Liana of Liana Beauty mention the Sephora Cream Lip Stain in one of her recent videos I knew I had to get it. As you all know by now, I love a good red lip color so I honestly couldn't say no to the shade Always Red. According to Sephora the lip stain is silky, lightweight, high-coverage, and comfortable. The cream lip stain also claims to be long-lasting and transfer-proof. The claims seem a little too good to be true so I decided to put it to the test and see how it wears throughout the day. So does this product pass the test?

Skincare Tips for Spring

Skincare Tips for Spring
Warm weather is upon us and if you live in San Diego it means that it already feels like summer. You all know by now that I don't like hot weather, but since there is really nothing that I can do about the weather I just have to step up my skincare routine. I wrote a blog post about my winter skin essentials a few months ago and now it's time for me to share with you some tips and products for the warmer months ahead. I've teamed up with Bellus Academy's esthetics experts to bring you these warm weather skin tips to help defend your skin while you're out and about under the sun.

Record Store Day

Record Store Day
Record Store Day is a relatively new holiday for music fans around the world and one of my favorite days as a music fan. It was started in 2008 as a way to spread the word about the independent record stores and is now celebrated in every continent (minus Antarctica of course). I was introduced to Record Store Day at Coachella in 2009 and ever since then I've been purchasing limited edition records and supporting local stores on that day. Although I grew up in the digital era, there's something about owning records that makes me think about my childhood.

Review | Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Paint

Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Paint
Here's the latest member of the Scandaleyes family- the Eye Shadow Paint! I remember hearing about these last year thanks to all the British bloggers I follow and ever since then I was eagerly awaiting for the US launch. Well it took longer than expected to get them here and even had my boyfriend taking me from drugstore to drugstore in Orange County for months in order to find them. Finally I was able to find them a month ago 10 minutes from where I live and I've been putting them to the test ever since. So do they live up to the YouTube hype?

Nails of the Day | Rouge Poppy

Bourjois 1 Seconde Rouge Poppy
I can't even remember the last time I painted my nails red and I don't know the reason why. I used to be in love with red polish but then I started wearing almost every other color in the rainbow except for red. What can I say about red that hasn't been said before? It is classic, daring, and very bright. This nail polish I bought while I was studying in Paris and it's one of my favorites because of how opaque it goes on and the shine. If they weren't 9,99€ ($13.79) maybe I would have gotten another color because this is one of the best nail polishes I've ever tried.

Pixie Cut Update

pixie cut update
Next month will be my one year anniversary with my pixie. I can still remember the day when I went to my hairstylist to get my hair chopped off. Throughout the year I didn't really miss my longer hair till last month and that's when I decided to change things up yet again. I know I haven't talked about my hair much lately so in this video I will let you know what's going on and show you how my hair is looking at the moment.

Review | Flower Beauty Kiss Me Twice Lip & Cheek Chubby

Flower Beauty Kiss Me Twice Lip & Cheek Chubby
I used to avoid cream blushes at all costs due to my oily skin, but recently I've found some great options  at the drugstore that every skin type can enjoy. During my latest trip to Walmart I encountered the new lip and cheek chubbies from Flower Beauty which is Drew Barrymore's makeup line. Flower Beauty is a very unique makeup line because they pride themselves in using high quality ingredients, they don't test on animals, and they don't spend money on advertising. Instead of spending millions of dollars in advertising campaigns they just focus on creating new products which is almost unheard of in the beauty industry.

Lucky Fabb Gift Bag

When I Instagrammed a picture of me holding the bag at Lucky Fabb many of you requested to see a haul and now I'm bringing you that haul! I'll be showing you everything that was in the enormous bag, as well as the items that I got at the gifting suite and Covergirl session. There's a lot of things to get through so this video is extremely long! Grab yourself a glass of water and maybe some snacks because I'm going to be on your computer screen for a while.

MAC Plumful Lipstick

MAC Plumful
As you all know by now I am a huge lipstick addict. I technically don't need another lipstick till the day I die but I just can't help myself sometimes, especially when it comes to rosey shades. I first heard about Plumful thanks to one of my favorite bloggers, Estée of Essiebutton. She's one of the bloggers that I trust the most so when she really loves an item I write it down so I can check it out. I bought Plumful with a birthday gift card a couple months ago and now cannot imagine my life without it. It is literally the most flattering lipstick in my collection, and that's saying a lot.

I've teamed up with one of my favorite drugstore brands and #CollectiveBias to bring you this really easy look featuring none other than the newest Rimmel products that you can easily purchase at your local Walmart. Nails of the Day | Charged Up

Orly Nail Lacquer Charged Up
Apart from sleeping, barely eating, and taking medicine there's really nothing exciting that happened this week. Since I wasn't feeling my best I decided to paint my nails with a really bright color to cheer myself up a little. This color is what you think about when you think of purple. This is not lavender, lilac, periwinkle. orchid, amethyst, or raspberry- this is purple! Unfortunately this particularly shade of purple reminds of Justin Bieber (swag) and his all-purple ensembles back in his mushroom haircut days. Anyways this is still a really pretty shade and the formula is one of the best in my opinion.

Lucky Fabb West 2014 Diary

Lucky Fabb West 2014
I may still be under the weather and voiceless but that doesn't mean that I can't blog! In fact that's one of the few things I can do apart from taking medicine and sleeping. I had a blast at Lucky Fabb this past weekend and got to learn a lot of things during the different sessions. While I mostly hung out with my San Diego Style Bloggers crew, I did get to meet other bloggers from the state of California and even out of state. It was really cool to just observe other people's style and get inspired by them. There was also another pixie cut girl who looked effortlessly cool à la Tilda Swinton. If you want to watch the vlogs or gain some knowledge about blogging then just keep reading.

50 Facts About Me

If you follow me on either Twitter or Facebook then you would know that I'm currently very sick at the moment. Yesterday I had a really bad fever and sore throat and today I can't even talk. I also developed a weird lump on the side of my neck which isn't cute but who said having strep throat was cute anyways. In order not to miss a posting date (since I'm already missing filming dates) I decided to post a video I did over on my YouTube channel a few weeks ago. In this video you'll learn quite a lot about the girl you're following including how to say my weird middle name.

Style Your Spring Break with Kleenex

My last Kleenex post did so well that I decided to team up with Kleenex once again to bring you another post- this time I'll be talking about traveling with Kleenex. I'm so happy that this campaign coincided with Lucky Fabb because I was already planning to take at least one packet along with me for the trip. You always see me commuting on the train and out and about so I thought this was a very natural collaboration and one you would really enjoy because of the stories I'll be sharing.

Outfit of the Day | Lucky Fabb West 2014

Lucky Fabb West 2014
I'm finally back from a very fun weekend in Los Angeles. I'm currently very tired but Lucky Fabb was so much fun. I got to meet so many great bloggers, get inspired, and enjoy a mini break from my day-to-day routine. The first day of Lucky Fabb consisted of the sessions so I made sure to choose something comfortable that would reflect my personal style. The dress I'm wearing actually belonged to my mom. She was cleaning out her closet when I spotted the dress and decided to keep it for myself. Let's just say that I'm very happy I "stole" this from my mom because I love the dress.

Preparing for Lucky FABB

By the time you read this I'll be at day-1 of Lucky FABB! As I'm writing this I'm both excited and nervous about attending my first blogger conference. As you may remember I am an introvert so any kind of big gathering always makes me nervous, especially when I know I'll be doing some networking. On Wednesday I decided to prepare myself for the conference, both mentally and physically by packing. Let's just say that planning outfits to wear for a beauty and fashion conference isn't the easiest thing in the world.

Beauty of Nature

FTC Disclaimer: This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Aveeno and Latina Bloggers Connect.
Hispanic women have always trusted the advice they've received from their mothers and grandmothers, especially as it related to beauty. Many of their tips and beauty secrets usually included the use of ingredients found in nature. Best known for its use in food, oat is actually one of nature's best kept beauty secrets. Oats are comprised of five vital elements that are also found in healthy skin such as: proteins, antioxidants, enzymes, vitamins, and lipids. You may remember me telling you about some of the skincare benefits packed in oats back when I did the DIY mask for acne but there's so much more than oats can do.

March 2014 Favorites

Are you ready for the monthly favorites cliché? Ok, here we go... March went by so fast! I honestly can't believe how fast it went by. I swear that time has just flown by since I started blogging last year. One minute I'm hauling things, the other I'm featuring them on monthly favorites. That's just the way things go around here. This month I don't have too many things to show you but I just noticed that the majority of the things are matte. Matte finishes are usually associated with fall and winter, but I feel like I should declare that matte is officially in for spring!

Outfit of the Day | Battle Born

Last month I bought these really cool velvet combat boots on Hautelook and didn't even think of a way to wear them. Sometimes I tend to just get things without even thinking about how I'm going to wear them. While I was getting dressed this Killers shirt caught my eye (because I've been on a huge Killers kick lately) and then I realized that it would be the perfect companion to the boots. Boy was I right! Now if only The Killers would have a show in the States, I wish I could wear this to one of their shows...
