Fall Makeup Using the Juvia's Place Nubian 2 Palette

Fall Makeup Using the Juvia's Place Nubian 2 Palette
After uploading my Top 5 Eyeshadow Palettes post, the requests to recreate my makeup started pouring in on Snapchat and Instagram. I honestly didn't think anyone would comment on my eyeshadow look, but little did I know that you guys were going to love it. This is a much different makeup than what's been circulating on YouTube, so I can definitely see the appeal. For this look I decided to play with plum and pumpkin tones, aka two fall basics. I don't think many people would think of pairing plum tones with a "pumpkin spice" type of color, but I personally think the both colors look amazing together. All the eyeshadows used for this look come from the incredibly affordable Juvia's Place The Nubian 2 palette which I've been obsessed with as of late.

Despite owning a lot of eyeshadow palettes, for some reason I had never dedicated a video to my favorite palettes in my makeup collection. In this post I'm going to be showing you my all-time favorite eyeshadow palettes for every budget and color preference. There're palettes that are a complete steal and others that will be great everyday investments. I even made sure to include options for people who love neutrals and more colorful options, as well as those who prefer matte to shimmer. And as always, you're going to be getting a lot of information in this post and swatches so you know what to expect.

Review | Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Surreal Light

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Surreal Light Review
The holidays quickly approaching and with that being said, we have come to the time of the year that pretty much every makeup brand releases their beautiful limited-edition palettes and holiday sets. Out of the holiday palettes I've seen so far, none are more beautiful than this year's palette by Hourglass. This year's palette includes a universally-flattering powder, bronzer, two blushes, and a highlighter. Not only are the powders stunning, but so it the beautiful marbled packaging. Being the marbled obsessed blogger that I am, I nearly lost my shit when the promotional images started appearing all over my Instagram feed. I honestly wonder why a brand hadn't tapped into the marbled obsession sooner, but leave it up to Hourglass to create an elegant looking palette for the holidays.

Playing With New Makeup | bareMinerals

Playing With New Makeup | bareMinerals
Guess what guys? I have a new job! I just started working for bareMinerals and I honestly couldn't be happier about it. I love working for one of the first makeup companies that I ever got hooked on back in high school. And so far I'm absolutely loving my new job! My favorite part is educating women about our products and applying them to their face. Seeing people's faces light up after I do their makeup honestly makes my whole entire day. So in honor of my new job, I've decided to dedicate an entire Playing With New Makeup video to all the new bareMinerals products that I received and purchased recently. I'll try my best not to sound like a bareMinerals commercial but I honestly can't help but to share my excitement with all of you.

Review | Sephora Collection Matte Perfection Powder Foundation

Sephora Collection Matte Perfection Powder Foundation Review
About a month ago I wandered into Sephora (as any girl who's obsessed with makeup does) and proceeded to spend over an hour walking around and swatching items. I went into Sephora with absolutely no intention of buying a foundation but then a certain powder foundation caught my eye. I will completely honest with you when I say that the Sephora Collection makeup hasn't really appealed to me much, but something about the Sephora Collection Matte Perfection Powder Foundation really made me think twice. I literally had to go on the Sephora app to look up reviews and once I saw the near to perfect score, I went ahead and purchased it. If you're someone who's lazy or doesn't like a complicated makeup routine, then you better listen up!

My New Haircut | Asymmetrical Bob with Bangs

The bangs are BACK! It has been a few year since I've rocked the bangs but I started feeling a bit too plain without them. Many of you probably started following me when I was bang-less, but I've had bangs for most of my life. I guess you can refer to bangs as my security blanket, or maybe you could even call them my all-time favorite accessory. Back in the day I used to straighten the shit out of my bangs, so I assumed that it would be near to impossible to rock bangs without feeling the need to use a straightener everyday. But let me tell you, having bangs with textured hair is more than possible. In fact, the bangs are perfect for my laziness because I literally just put product and let them air dry. Apart from the bangs, I also got a bit of an asymmetrical and textured cut which I will go into detail in this post.

Review | Nuxe Crème Prodigieuse Eye Cream

Nuxe Crème Prodigieuse Eye Cream Review
Nuxe is one of the wonderful French skincare brands that I was lucky enough to discover when I was studying abroad in Paris. I'm sure you've heard me rave about the Rêve de Miel Lip Balm one too many times before. That is my holy grail lip balm and it's one of the most irreplaceable products in my skincare routine. In fact that's been my go-to lip balm for almost 5 years now, so that's goes to show how much I love and trust Nuxe as a skincare brand. Apart from the lip balm, Nuxe is also known for their famous (dare I say iconic) Huile Prodigieuse. There wasn't a French pharmacy that I would walk into where I wouldn't see bottles among bottles of that beautiful gold oil. Well if you're a fan of the Huile Prodigieuse, then you might want to look into the Crème Prodigieuse range. In this post I'm going to be talking about the Crème Prodigieuse Eye Cream which has replaced all my other eye creams and is now that only thing I use in the day and at night.

Birchbox October 2016

Birchbox October 2016
Fall is here and Birchbox has me completely covered! This month's theme was reviving and restoring products, which is absolutely perfect for me since the air in San Diego has been drying my skin quite a bit. I was very excited when I saw a Tata Harper product as a sample choice, so I went ahead and got it. I feel like I've been hearing a lot about Tata Harper skincare products a lot as of late, so you can imagine how excited I am to see if her products live up to the hype. I also got a product from a brand that I've been very curious about in this month's box.

Dollar Store Makeup Challenge + First Impressions

Dollar Store Makeup Challenge
I don't do too many challenges on my channel, but one that really caught my eye recently was the Dollar Store Makeup Challenge. I've seen some people take the challenge seriously but many people have made a complete joke about the premise of the challenge, as well as the products. Let's me be completely real, I may love high-end products but I know that how privileged I am to be able to spend $24 on lipstick or $40 on foundation without having to worry about meeting ends meet. Heck, just the concept of getting PR packages from companies is a huge privilege that not a lot of people have! There's so many people who are not able to spend money on a trip to Sephora or a trip to drugstore to buy makeup, so that's why I told myself that I needed to go the extra mile when it came to the Dollar Store Makeup Challenge. I made sure to show a variety of products from the Dollar Tree, show how each product applies, and also how they wear throughout the day.

September 2016 Favorites
September, September, September... Once again I couldn't be happier about ending another frustrating month. I was initially so excited about September, but the whole month was such a letdown thanks to the museum job gone wrong. Let's just say that it was the worst job I've ever had and it left me physically and emotionally exhausted. Thankfully I did quit that job and my last day is this week! Wo-hoo! And to make things better I am starting a very exciting job in the beauty field, so things are definitely looking up in October. Call me crazy but I think October is going to be the month that turns this mediocre year around...
