Review | Avène Cleanance Emulsion Lotion

Whenever I use French products (which is daily for me) I just get sad that I can't just go to the French pharmacy or Parashop to browse all the incredible French brands. Ugh, I just miss that so much. I should probably have a drink every time I mention that I miss Paris, because I honestly say that at least once a day. Yeah, it's a little ridiculous but enough of that, today I'm going to be sharing with you one of my favorite products by Avène which is the Cleanance Emulsion Lotion.

July Favorites

July has come and gone! The month of July was filled with big purchases! I finally made the change from PC to Mac and I also bought my new Canon camera. I'm extremely happy to begin this new chapter of my blogging life and even more so to share my upcoming videos with all of you. Hope you enjoy the latest monthly favorites!

The 3 minute makeup CHALLENGE!

I did the 5 minute makeup challenge a couple of weeks ago and that wasn't a complete failure, so for some reason I thought I would be the perfect contender for the 3 minute challenge. Did I fail? Was there another foundation problem? I guess you'll have to watch the video to find out.

July 2013 Playlist

Since Outside Lands is in exactly two weeks I decided to make a playlist featuring some of the bands and musicians that I can't wait to see. This will be my first time going to Outside Lands and I'm extremely excited to attend the music festival. I also can't wait to be in San Francisco since it's been around 10 years since I last went.

So in this month's playlist we have Rhye (which I've been obsessed with for the past couple of months), Vampire Weekend, San Diego's own Wavves, and last but not least we have Sir Paul McCartney opening and closing the playlist.

Haul | Roots Canada, Poshmark, and Drugstore Makeup

Today is a two blog post type of day because I have a new video to share with you! Check out what items I've purchased these past couple of weeks.

Review | Dermisa Skin Fade Cream

If you have fair skin like me you know that post-acne marks are sometimes even worse than having acne. No matter what you do it'll be a while till your skin goes back to normal. And to add to that I also have Keratosis Pilaris (most commonly known as chicken skin). When I walking around Walmart I saw the Dermisa Skin Fade Cream in the Mexican/Hispanic health and beauty section and I became intrigued by it. I figured I had nothing to lose with the small price tag, but does this product really work?

Products for Pixie Cuts

I've had my pixie cut for two months now so by now I've figured out how I like to style my hair and what products I like. Watch my latest video to find out which products I recommend and also learn a few tips and tricks from me.

Your Lips Are Red

Inspired by the St. Vincent song title, I've decided to dedicate a whole blog post to one of my absolute favorite lipstick shades. What's not to love about red lipstick? It's loud, powerful, and classic. Every woman looks absolutely beautiful with the right shade of red but I know that not everyone feels comfortable with such a loud shade on their lips, that's why I'll be sharing a variety finishes of red lipstick. I hope you enjoy this look into my ever growing red lipstick collection.

Review | Boots Botanics Shine Away Mattifying Toner

I've found my new holy grail toner! This will honestly change your life if you have oily skin and extend the wear of your foundation this summer. And you know what the best thing about this is? This product won't break the bank.

Outfit of the Day | We got THE BEAT!

On Friday I had the opportunity to attend a blogger event at the cool rocker boutique, The Beat, located in Carlsbad. That was the first time I've ever gone Carlsbad Village area and you know what? It's a pretty cool area. There's lots of restaurants and boutiques which is sure to satisfy the needs of both locals and tourists alike. The Beat definitely stands out  from the other boutiques in Carlsbad Village which tend to cater more to the beachy Californian girl. From the moment I walked in I definitely got a good vibe all thanks to the rad music and decor.

Nails of the Day | Polka Dots in a Bottle

By now you all know that I love a unique nail polish. This summer I've tried everything from textured polish to the fuzzy coat polishes, but one nail trend that I hadn't ventured in was the speckled polish. In the spring Illamasqua released their Specked Nail Varnish which are $17 a bottle. I don't know about you but it kills me to spend over $8 for a nail polish, especially since drugstore brands are on top of their game when it comes to the latest nail trends. Yesterday I was browsing the makeup section at Bed Bath & Beyond when I stumbled upon this Maybelline nail polish. It was love at first application, let me tell you! And the best part is that the bottle is only $3. Now that's what I call a bargain!

DIY | Statement Necklace

I've been obsessed with statement necklaces. I honestly can't get enough of them! Since my style is evolving into a very laid back style, which is comprised of numerous basic shirts, I need something to make an ordinary outfit a little more exciting and that's where necklaces come in. My boyfriend jokes around that I don't like a necklace until its "tacky" enough, and he's right. The bigger and chunkier the necklace is, the more I like it! The problem with statement necklaces are the price! I hate that some are above $50 and as someone who is trying to save up, I just can't pay that much for a necklace. Well I did some fishing around on YouTube and found this amazing DIY tutorial in Dutch, I may not speak Dutch but I sure speak DIY.

Wish List #1

The neutral beat
I've been in the mood to shop for these past two weeks but right now I just can't afford to spend money on things I don't need. Instead of simply window shopping, I've decided to create three outfits on Polyvore that I wish I could buy. There's nothing wrong with a little wishful thinking, right?

Disappointing Products #1

There's nothing worse than knowing that you've wasted money on bad products. I try to do my research prior to buying a product but sometimes I just end up giving into the hype. Not all products are bad though, some just simply didn't work out for me. Watch my latest video to find out which products have disappointed me.

Review | Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Miracle Dry Oil

A miracle dry oil for hair, body, and face? Sounds too good to be true right? When I saw this I became very skeptical and you can blame that on the usage of the word "miracle." This isn't the first time I've seen dry oil, in fact they are a staple within French skincare lines, but this was the first time I've seen one available in American drugstores. So does this product live up to the hype?

The 5 minute makeup CHALLENGE!

I saw the 5 minute challenge around YouTube and decided to give it a go. When I was watching the videos I was like "Man, I can do this. It looks so easy!" But try it for yourself and you'll see that 5 minutes really isn't much time to do anything, especially when you're used to taking your time. Click below to see how well (or bad) I did in 5 minutes.

Outfit of the Day | Watts Towers

This past Sunday I got the chance to visit the Watts Towers with my boyfriend. I have to admit I hadn't heard of them since I'm not from the area, but I'm very glad I got to see Simon Rodia's work in person. I honestly couldn't believe that an older man built the towers predominantly by himself and with absolutely no special equipment. Everything from the story to the actual towers was absolutely incredible.

Why Watches Are A Timeless Fashion Must-Have

Hello everyone! These past couple of weeks I've had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with the folks over at the French watch brand, Michel Herbelin. I know we live in a digital age and most of us look at our phones whenever we want the time, but there is just something about watches that I absolutely love. Michel Herbelin and I would like to illustrate how watches are such a timeless fashion accessory.  I've created two Polyvore sets inspired by two of the women featured in Jean-Luc Godard films during the nouvelle vague era, Anna Karina and Jean Seberg. I personally find French fashion simple, effortless, classic, and timeless just like the Michel Herbelin's Sonates watch. I really hope that you enjoy this creative collaboration as much as I enjoyed the whole process.
