Review | L'Oréal Voluminous Miss Manga Rock Mascara

L'Oréal Voluminous Miss Manga Rock Mascara Review
As you may remember, I was a huge fan of the original L'Oréal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara when it came out in the United States last year. I featured the mascara in a monthly favorites and in two separate makeup tutorials. I've even repurchased it three times! When I first heard about the L'Oréal Voluminous Miss Manga Punky Mascara, I just knew I had to try it out. It took a few months and a name change for us to get the Miss Manga Rock Mascara across the Atlantic, and let me tell you it is a good one.

Ethereal Eyes with Ulta

Ethereal Eyes with Ulta
Say hello to today's model, my mom. When I went to Ulta a few weeks ago, I was originally going to be the one modeling two of their five spring obsessions but I decided to switch things up last minute. My mom is a woman who has lived through many dramatic makeup eras. There was the overly bronzed 70's, the bright eyeshadows in the 80's, and don't forget about the dark lips in the 90's. For her age, my mom looks amazing but she doesn't like stepping out of her makeup comfort zone very much- even if trying something new will make her look more youthful. For that reason I had Angie try out the "ethereal eyes" trend on my mom, and let's just say that she thought she looked "waumaci" (wow + amazing).

Outfit of the Day | $1 Finds

Outfit of the Day | $1 Finds
If I were to create a "Laura Neuzeth uniform," it would have the following pieces: black pants (or jeggings), an oversized top, and flats. This is another variation of my "style comfort zone," which you have seen quite a bit on my blog. The main difference is that the top I'm wearing in the pictures only costed $1. Yes, it was the same price as a anything from the McDonald's Dollar Menu. I found this button down last year during the Buffalo Exchange Earth Day Sale. They had three large boxes filled with clothes that didn't get sold inside of the store, essentially it was their junk. When I pulled the top from one of the boxes it wasn't love at first sight, but it was one of those things that had the potential to be something great. I'm so glad I got it because it's definitely something that's very "me."

Walmart Spring Beauty Box

Walmart Spring Beauty Box
It's time for a brand new box! This time around we're going to take a look at the spring beauty box. With the Walmart Beauty Box you'll only be paying $5 for shipping, which means that the box is technically free. The box is sent quarterly so you'll only be spending $20 a year on the subscription, making it one of the most affordable services out there. I love getting to try new makeup brands but sometimes you have to go on a bit of a scavenger hunt to find where they're sold. What I love the best about this box is that it exposes me to new products that I can easily find at Walmart or any other drugstore.

Make Some Noise In CUSP

Make Some Noise In CUSP
A few weeks ago I got to attend a CUSP by Neiman Marcus event all about the summer style trends. The event was hosted by four style experts: Kelly Thomas, NM CUSP Buyer; Gillian Flynn, Editor of Riviera Magazine; Mahjuba Levine, personal stylist; and Alex Yanez, style advisor. The models wore everything from bright tropical prints, to versatile pieces that the everyday woman can wear. Here are a few shots of some of the outfits that were styled by Alex Yanez.

Sephora VIB Rouge Sale Haul

Sephora VIB Rouge Sale Haul
There are two dates that every beauty lover looks forward to: the spring VIB beauty sale and the sale in November. As much as I love buying makeup, let me be real- Sephora has some really expensive products and brands. I love whenever there's a chance to save a little money at Sephora, because I can finally go for the more pricey products that I've been meaning to try for the longest time. This sale was no exception, I was preparing myself and my wallet for this event for the last month. The result- a pricey haul but I managed to save around $50 and get some good Ebates bucks out of it, so overall it was a success.

Blo Gaslamp

Blo Gaslamp
I've done pretty much everything to my hair- I've dyed it, cut it, straighten it, grown it back out, but I have never gotten a blow out. A few weeks ago Blo Blow Dry Bar opened a new location in Downtown, San Diego and I was invited to go check it out. The salon was ultra modern, clean, and girly- basically a girl's paradise. As soon as I walked in, I knew that this place was something else. When I got the chance to pick out which hairstyle I wanted, I went with the hairstyle that took me out of my "messy curly hair" comfort zone. I said "see ya later" to my messy curls and embraced some glamorous red carpet Beyoncé hair for a weekend. Not going to lie, I was totally digging the flowy hair.

March 2015 Favorites

March Favorites
It had been some weeks since I last sat down to talk to the camera, so recording my favorites felt really great. Last month I was sick for two weeks, so I wasn't wearing a whole lot of makeup while I had the flu. This month's favorites features products that I've never talked about in this channel, such as a toothpaste. Yes, a toothpaste. I also discovered a great Argan oil that won't break the bank and a foundation so lightweight that I can't feel it on my face. Also, if you live in San Diego I will be co-hosting a shopping event on April 11th at Madewell. For more information watch the following video.

Contouring with Ulta

Contouring with Ulta
I'll be the first to tell you that I'm not the best when it comes to contouring. I can bronze up my face without a problem, but defining and creating shadows doesn't come naturally for me. Contouring is one of the biggest trends of 2015, so when Ulta reached out to me about creating a video about one of their five spring obsessions I knew that I wanted to learn how to contour my face. Angie, one of the prestige brand managers in San Diego, guided me along my contour journey and showed me how to contour with both cream and powder products. Let's just say that I'm no longer intimidated by a little contouring.

A Visit to the Flower Fields and the Carlsbad Premium Outlets

the Flower Fields
On a beautiful Thursday morning, I made my way to Carlsbad to finally go visit the Flower Fields. I remember driving past the fields ever since I was a child. I would also get to see them whenever my parents wanted to go to the Carlsbad Premium Outlets to find some good deals. Fast forward a few years (alright, maybe like 10 years or so) and I'm attending a media event a the Flower Fields.
