Nails for Spring

Nails for Spring featuring Love Tatum
A few weeks ago I went to my friend, Tatum's, office to discuss a future collaboration. You've seen me wear Love Tatum rings plenty of times on both my YouTube channel and on my blog, so a collaboration just seemed very natural. As we began bouncing ideas off of one another, I had an big "aha" moment. Instead of coming up with a simple "outfit of the day" type post, I wanted to create a fun video presenting a few nail ideas for spring. BRILLIANT! In today's video I will be presenting five nail ideas for spring, including a marble inspired nail art which was incredibly messy to create but looked incredibly chic.

Battle of the Budget Beauty Blending Sponges

Battle of the Budget Beauty Blending Sponges
When it comes to beauty tools, sponges seem to be a makeup artist's best friend. Sponges can be used for pretty much anything! They can blend out foundation and concealer, apply a cream highlight, and some people even swear that sponges set powder beautifully. While many swear by the Beauty Blender, I just can't bring myself to spend $19 on a sponge that I'll have to replace. Since I'm not ready to splurge on a Beauty Blender, I've been on the hunt for the best budget sponge on the market. My journey brought me to the following two contenders: the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and the Earth Therapeutics Precisso Beauty Blending Sponge. Which one is the best budget sponge? San Diego Style Bloggers Meet Up at Bottles & Wood

San Diego Style Bloggers Meet Up at Bottles & Wood
Earlier this month I got the opportunity to attend the San Diego Style Bloggers meet up at Bottles & Wood. Due to my work schedule I haven't been able to attend many meet ups, so you can only imagine how happy I was when I saw that I could go to this. No more living vicariously through my Instagram feed! Well, at least not this time around. Not only was I excited to meet all the new faces popping up on the San Diego Style Bloggers' Instagram, but I really wanted to see how glass bottles are repurposed into jewelry, glassware, and home decor. As a bonus, we all got to make our own necklaces or earrings made out of various alcohol and soda bottles!

Chatty Makeup Tuturial using the Soothingsista x Memebox Palette

Chatty Makeup Tuturial using the Soothingsista x Memebox Palette
I've always enjoyed watching chatty makeup tutorials but have never actually filmed one because of how challenging it would be. In case you didn't know, I have two YouTube channels and two blogs in order to be a bilingual bloggers. That means that I do everything twice- yes, twice. A few days ago I was just in the mood to get ready and talk to the camera so I did that. Not going to lie, it was a pain to edit but I'm happy with the result. In this video I'm going to show you how I used the SoothingSista x Memebox #EYELOVESF Quad to achieve this look. If you want to see this look (plus some dorky pictures of me from high school) just click below to watch the video.

When it comes to YouTube, there's very few bloggers who manage to be both edgy and down-to-earth like Stephanie of SoothingSista. I subscribed to Stephanie's channel two years ago when she was just a shy girl with the most amazing eyebrows. Whenever I watch Stephanie's videos I want her clothes, her makeup, her looks, and even her kick ass blue hair. So when Stephanie announced that she was going to release an eyeshadow palette with Memebox, I was all over that! I even pre-ordered the palette like the little fangirl that I am. When it comes to YouTuber/makeup company collaborations, this one is definitely worthy of a lot of buzz.

February 2015 Favorites

February Favorites
I'm a little late to the February favorites party but better late than never. In February I got to try out many new product but only the ones mentioned truly blew my mind. You might see some items that you've heard me talk about in past favorites but that just goes to show how much I really like them. When it comes to my favorites if I keep reaching for the same product on a regular basis, then I'm going to keep mentioning it until I either get bored or find something better. As much as I want to expose my audience to brand new products in each favorites videos, the true monthly staples are always the ones who make the cut.

Gifts from the UK

Gifts from the UK
A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I received a box filled with both makeup and food from our friend, Sofia. We started talking around 6 years ago through Twitter, she began following me after watching one of my videos about The Killers. Yes, before I began making beauty videos I started off as a music vlogger. Recently one of our favorite things to talk about is about makeup, we'll even share pictures of our "makeup of the day" with one another. Since we live in two different countries we decided to exchange gifts with items that we can't get in our respected countries. Orlando and I sent her a box full of makeup, American chocolate, and Mexican goodies. Today as a bonus blog post, I'm going to share some of the makeup items that I received.

Outfit of the Day | Abstract

Outfit of the Day | Abstract
Back to back prints on my blog? What is going on?!? I'm really making an effort to add even the slightest bit of color into my wardrobe this year. I purchased this top back during Zara's big sale in January, which is my favorite time to go shop at Zara. The top reminded me a lot of an abstract painting, like one of the many that I had to memorize when I took art history in college. I consider this my ode to art history class, one of my favorite classes I took in college despite feeling like my interpretations were just a bunch of gibberish.

My Everyday Hair Routine for Wavy/Curly Hair

My Everyday Hair Routine for Wavy/Curly Hair
You've asked for it, now I'm showing you exactly how low maintenance my hair routine actually is. I'm not even kidding when I say low maintenance, this routine takes from start to finish less than 4 minutes to do. I use less than 5 styling products, no fancy hair tools, and certainly not a blow dryer. This is perfect for girls who have a similar hair type, or those who frankly don't have the time to be spending more than 5 minutes on your hair. I like taking my time to do my makeup because... well that's my thing, plus I just enjoy embracing my hair's natural texture. If you're curious to see my quick hair routine just watch the video below.

Brow Threading with Beauty By Dolly

Brow Threading with Beauty By Dolly
Thick eyebrows are a very prominent feature in my family that I learned to embrace very early on in my life. When thin brows became more popular I would have everyone from my high school friends, to my mom's acquaintances try to persuade me into getting my eyebrows thinned out. Thankfully I refused to do anything drastic to my brows. For the past years I've used a combination of tweezing, shaving, and trimming my eyebrows to achieve something that still looks quite natural. So many of the bloggers I follow have all converted to threading, so naturally I became very intrigued. A few weeks ago I was contacted by local brow threading salon, Beauty By Dolly, to review their service. Let's just say that this brow threading noob quickly converted into the art of brow threading.
