Everyday Makeup Tutorial

Everyday Makeup Tutorial
I was getting requested to do a natural everyday look recently, so I decided to film another chatty tutorial walking you through what I normally do! On most days I just want to even out my skin, add a sheer wash of color on the lids, and then finish the look up with a bright lip. I didn't use a ton of product on my skin, but I did want to do a dark bold lip on this occasion. The lip color can be easily substituted for a nude lip or sheer gloss based on your preference. I also have to mention that this tutorial is a very quick one, if I wasn't filming this video I would be able to do everything in about 10 minutes which isn't too shabby.

Francis' Finds | Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Freeze-Dried Dog Food

Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Freeze-Dried Dog Food
Last month you met both Bowie and Buster, now it's time to meet the lady of the house. Francis is a 4/5 year-old Yorkie that was found on the streets in my neighborhood. She was malnourished, very dirty, and had knots everywhere. To be completely honest, we were all very surprised that she managed to survive in an area where coyotes often eat small pets but she was able to keep herself alive. No one claimed her or made the attempt to find her either which was incredibly weird. Francis is known in my house as the #1 diva and daddy's little girl. She absolutely loves both my dad and brother, but me on the other hand not so much. And out of all the dogs, she's the pickiest eater. We struggle getting her to eat her dog food because all she wants to eat are treats. When I first heard about the Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Freeze-Dried Dog Food I knew that I had to make Francis try it because otherwise it's tough to get her to eat properly.

July 2015 Favorites

July Favorites
July has come and gone! And in a week I'll be boarding a plane to San Francisco so I can attend the Outside Lands festival for a third year in a row! I'm super excited about my trip because it's been a whole year since my last one (which is sad to think about since I love traveling). But before I start packing my bags I need to show you the things I consistently used in the month of July. As always there's a good variety of things in my favorites videos. This month I discovered #highlightonfleek, affordable liquid lipsticks, and dumped my aluminum deodorants in the trash can.

Skin Survival Tips for College Clean & Clear
The first day of class is just around the corner and you know what that means, right? Long lectures, essays upon essays, and you can't forget about the classic all-nighters. I still remember pulling numerous all-nighters back when I was in college and on occasion I would forget to remove my makeup. The present me is cringing at the thought of sleeping with makeup on, but it did happen a few times during college. Today I'm going to show you a really quick routine that will keep you shine-free and your acne at bay while you're in college. Taking care of your skin doesn't need to cost a lot of money or take too much time from your studies thanks to these Clean & Clear products which were repurchased a few too many times throughout my college years. The best thing is that you can easily find everything I'll be sharing with you at everyone's favorite store (or maybe I'm just speaking for myself), Target!

How To Apply Liquid Lipstick

How To Apply Liquid Lipstick
I think you all know by now that I am in love with liquid lipsticks. I cannot get enough of these lip products because they're extremely long lasting, pigmented, and matte. One thing that I'll admit is that it took me a few tries to master liquid lipsticks due to how different they are to any other lip product that I own. If you get too much product then things can become incredibly messy and sometimes liquid lipsticks can create the appearance of Sahara desert lips. In my latest tutorial I'm going to walk you through the easy steps I take in order to get the best liquid lipstick application. Trust me, applying liquid lipstick isn't as hard as it may seem.

Top 10 Subscription Box Products

Top 10 Subscription Box Products
It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of subscription boxes. I've recorded so many unboxing videos that I now have a playlist dedicated to subscription boxes. Yeah, my obsession is pretty bad but there's so much to love about these services! You get to try out new products, discover new brands, and build up your makeup collection for a fraction of the price. Not every product is a win in my book, but there has certainly been a lot of great products that I've received in subscription boxes. In this video I'll be running through the best products I've received so far from Ipsy, Boxycharm, Walmart Beauty, and Julep Maven boxes.

Review | derma e Evenly Radiant Brightening Serum

derma e Evenly Radiant Brightening Serum
A few weeks ago I gave you a peek into my morning skincare routine but a product that didn't make the cut was the derma e Evenly Radiant Brightening Serum. When it comes to testing out skincare, I really like to take my time to familiarize myself with a product. I also like to wait a few weeks to give the product enough time to show results on my skin. I've been testing out the derma e Evenly Radiant Brightening Serum for close to 3 weeks now and I feel like I can finally give you my opinions about this serum. The serum has claims that it will help fight discoloration and dark spot, and it's also meant to be used by people with normal to oily skin. Oily skin and dark spots? Those are two things that I have!

Living Proof Curl Line Review

Living Proof Curl Line Review
Ever since I started using the Living Proof products for curly hair, I've been getting so many compliments in real life and on video. Whenever the change is noticeable in video, then you know that these products have worked some magic on my hair. I've been using all of these products for over two months, so by now I'm extremely familiar with each and every product. These are definitely not your conventional hair products- there's no lathering shampoo, no conditioner, and definitely no sulfates or silicones. The Living Proof products will define, condition, and extend the life of your curly hair. If you're curious to know more about the Living Proof curl range, then please make sure to watch my complete review.

Style Swap with Its Halo

Style Swap with Its Halo
If I had to describe my makeup style, I would say it's natural and very wearable. I like to keep things neutral so I can wear a bright coral or red lip. My friend Alo of Its Halo is the complete opposite from me, she loves color and lots of drama. I've been YouTube friends with her for over a year now and her looks always leave me with my jaw open. She's incredibly talented, creative, and not afraid to experiment with color. We've collaborated once before when we did the Decades Collab but we wanted to do another collab as bilingual YouTubers. She's one of the very few people I know that also does videos and blog posts in English and Spanish, so there's definitely a special connection right there. If you want to see us swap makeup styles then just keep reading this post!

Premios Juventud Slumber Party!

Target #SinTraducción Who's ready for a pijamada? Yes, I said just said pijamada which is Spanish for slumber party. Has it been awhile since you last went to one? In this post I'm going to show you how you can a more grown-up version of your favorite childhood event. Los Premios Juventud (The Youth Awards) are taking place tomorrow night (July 16th) on Univision, and there's no better way to enjoy a fun award show than with a small viewing party. The traditional finger food and obligatory slumber party manicures aren't going anywhere, but they definitely getting a major upgrade. As part of Target's #SinTraducción campaign, I'm going to be teaching you some words in Spanish that just don't translate easily into English. What can I say? My days as a language student are definitely coming out to play at this pijamada.

July 2015 Ipsy Bag Opening

July Ipsy Bag
Back-to-back subscription box videos? What is this world coming to? Well I wasn't planning on filming this Ipsy video, but my other video didn't quite turn out as planned so I took advantage of the fact that my Ipsy bag had arrived that same day. Last month's Ipsy bag wasn't my favorite, so honestly all I was hoping for was a bag that would excite me. This month's bag is not only incredibly bright, but it also includes a bunch of new brands that I've never heard of which is very exciting for a makeup addict like myself. Let's dive into the July bag together, shall we?

Walmart Summer Beauty Box

 Walmart Summer Beauty Box
It's time for a brand new Walmart Beauty Box box! This time around we're going to take a look at the summer beauty box. In case you're new to my blog let me quickly explain this service to you: the Walmart Beauty Box is sent quarterly and it retails for $5, so you'll only be spending $20 a year on the subscription. This box happens to be one of my favorites because it's not only incredibly affordable, but it features a nice mix of products that are readily available and also very generous coupons. I have to say that the summer box happens to be one of my favorite Walmart Beauty boxes that I've received so far! The items I received in this box will definitely come in handy when I go up to San Francisco in a few weeks.

ColourPop Haul

ColourPop Haul
ColourPop is easily one of my favorite makeup brands as of late, because of their high quality products and their affordable prices. Everything is priced incredibly reasonably, I'm talking $5 lipsticks and $5 eyeshadows here! I've used many of their Lippie Stix and shadows in blog posts and videos in the past, and have even mentioned their Lippie Stix in one of my monthly favorites. Recently they came out with $6 matte liquid lipsticks called Ultra Matte Lip and let me tell you, they're amazing! All 25 shades in that collection sold out on the launch day, but don't worry because they'll be fully restocked in early August. You might want to start saving up for a future ColourPop haul after watching this latest video.

Outtakes #2

Outtakes #2
You know what time it is? It's time for me to show you all the bad, blurry, and derp pictures that have been taken during OOTD posts and YouTube thumbnails. I have a whole folder in my computer dedicated to these pictures because I think that they deserve to be seen (plus I really want to laugh at myself too). It seems like you guys really enjoyed my last outtakes post so I had to do it all over again! The very first picture was taken in February when I did my 1940's makeup tutorial. Bowie was too small to be left alone at the time so he was sleeping in my room while I recorded my video. Once I got around to take the thumbnails, I wanted to take a few cute pictures with him and caught him yawning in my ear. And this is only the first derp picture in this post!

Review | Firmoo

Firmoo Review
I love glasses! As someone with myopic astigmatism I could technically get surgery to get rid of wearing glasses all together, but that would be a tragedy for me. At this point of my life, wearing glasses has become my thing. I really enjoy experimenting with different shapes, frame thickness, and also frame colors. As a teen I thought I could only get away with rectangular shapes due to my round features, but in recent years I've grown fond of round glasses. This latest pair of round glasses are from Firmoo and they're pretty great. There's nothing I love more than unique glasses at an affordable price, and that's exactly what Firmoo offers.

My New Haircut + Haircut Tips

My New Haircut
If you've followed me these last 2 years, then you know how much I love short hair. I've had a bob, lob, pixie cut, and even rocked some awkward Justin Bieber hair for a few months. I absolutely love experimenting with haircuts because it's just so easy. One moment I can have medium-length hair, and then I can go and chop it all off. I honestly believe that my outlook on hair makes life that much more fun for me. As you can probably notice from this picture, I got a bob once again but this is no ordinary bob. Just wait till you see the back! Spoiler alert: I'm sort of hiding half of a pixie underneath the bob.

My Morning Skincare Routine

 My Morning Skincare Routine
I have been asked to do a skincare routine video for the longest time and I'm finally getting around to to show you what I use every single day. The reason why it has taken me such a long time to record this video is because I wasn't completely happy with every product that I was using. I was experimenting with a few new products and they weren't giving me the results that I wanted, so I just went back to my old faithfuls and now my skin is very happy. It sure feels great when you finally find a routine that works wonders on your skin. In this latest video I'll be talking about all the products that I use, how I use them, and in the order that I use them in.

Mixed Up Makeup Challenge

Mixed Up Makeup Challenge
I'm sure you were scared by this image, I know I was. Let me introduce you to this weird challenge video that will guarantee a hot mess look everytime. The Mixed Up Makeup Challenge is quite a popular video in the Spanish speaking community, in fact I was tagged by three people- that's how popular it is. The rules are simple, you will have one cup with little strips of paper with the makeup products that you use on your face. The other cup will hold strips of paper with the parts of your face written on them. All you have to do is get a strip of paper from each cup and then apply said product on whatever part of your face that the other strip says. Sometimes you may get lucky, but most times you'll end up getting something extremely weird like the mascara as a lip liner that I had to unfortunately apply. If you want to see me look like a hot mess, then this video is for you!

Love Tatum's Dinner in the Garden

Love Tatum's Dinner in the Garden
I feel like I talk about Love Tatum and wear her jewelry so much on both my blogs and YouTube channels. Can you blame me though? Her jewelry is stunning and Tatum herself has an incredibly beautiful soul. I feel extremely lucky to know her and get to absorb as much wisdom as I can from her. Tatum is a complete pro when it comes to networking and building relationships with brands, bloggers, and stylists in the area. In order to help introduce the people she's met throughout the years, she and her wonderful team organized a beautiful dinner complete with delicious food and Pinterest-worthy decor. I swear that everything from the drinks, to the silverware just screamed #goals to me.

Match + Wella “Love is in the Hair”

Match + Wella “Love is in the Hair”
Getting ready for a first date can be tough! If you're anything like me then you're indecisive and don't know how you want to present yourself to a potential significant other. I feel confident in the makeup departments because I feel like my everyday neutral eye and muted rose lipstick would be perfect for a first date. As for my outfit, I would most likely take forever to pick out something but I would settle for something that look dressy and feels comfortable. Now hair is a whole different ballgame. I am horrible at styling my hair, hence why I embrace my crazy natural hair. If I were to show up at a first date with my wild hair I would feel like I'm giving off the wrong impression though. Would the other person think that I didn't care? Well Match.com and Wella have partnered up to help girls such as myself. Together they've organized fun mixers across the country which allow women to achieve the perfect first date-ready hair.
