Face of the Day | Off To Work

The past few days have been extremely hot here in San Diego. It's been in the mid 90s (~35ºC), a bit humid, and overall very unpleasant. Because of that I've been making an effort to keep my makeup as light as possible just like I did today. Even though the makeup doesn't look any different from what I normally wear, I did use some new products in today's look because I'm in the middle of testing out a few items. So without further ado let's jump right into this latest "face of the day post."

Face
On Friday I received a box with three Neutrogena products for an upcoming blog post so I've been putting those items to the test. As my base I used the Neutrogena Visibly Even BB Cream* which has SPF 30 and has light-medium coverage. I find that this BB Cream works pretty well and doesn't oxidize much during the day which is a plus for me. For concealer I used the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer which I honestly need to stop talking about, I feel like you're all going to get sick of hearing about it. To set everything in I'm using the Essence All About Matt! Compact Powder which is a mediocre powder. I find that it's a bit chalky and doesn't keep me matte for more than an hour and a half. Lastly, I showed this blush in my last haul but I cannot get enough of the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Buff. Sadly this particular shade has been discontinued but I believe that Exposed is also a nice neutral blush.

Eyes
In case you don't know, Ulta is doing their 21 days of beauty event and each day a new high end product goes on sale and usually for 50% off. This past Friday the Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer was on sale for $10 so I went ahead and picked it up after hearing my friend Bon rave about it. Recently whenever I want to do a really quick eyeshadow look I have been reaching out for the Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow in Bella Cappuccino. I added the semi-matte shadow on my lids and a little on my crease. Under the browbone I used the Wet n Wild ColorIcon Eyeshadow Single in Brulée which is extremely similar to MAC's Blanc Type. Finally to finish up my eyes I used the Maybelline Pumped Up! Colossal Volum' Express Mascara (because it is waterproof) and then I used the L'Oréal Linear Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner to line my eyes. On my eyebrows I used the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara which I'm almost mastering but it's still a little hard to use.

Lips
I've been obsessed with Yves Rocher's Sheer Botanical Lipsticks ever since they sent me a box of goodies to test out. The Sheer Botanical Lipstick in Bright Pink* is by far my favorite shade because it's a bright fuschia. I find that these lipsticks are incredibly comfortable, they almost feel like a lip balm.

And that's it! I can't believe that my makeup held up well on this hot day and it's only going go get hotter in the days to come (hooray...).
