Review | Crest 3D White Brilliance Daily Cleansing Toothpaste and Whitening Gel System

I've been a huge fan of  Crest 3D White toothpaste and strips for over 5 years because I find the lineup of products to be very efficient, affordable, and trustworthy. When I first heard that Crest was bringing out a two step daily whitening system I was incredibly anxious to get my hands on it so I could see if it was better than their regular toothpastes in the 3D White range. Step 1 is meant to give your teeth a deep clean and freshen your mouth, while step 2 is the clear whitening gel. I've had really great luck with Crest 3D White products in the past so I went into the testing process with really high hopes, unfortunately things didn't go very smoothly this time around.

The Crest 3D White Brilliance Daily Cleansing Toothpaste and Whitening Gel System is a convenient and affordable at-home whitening system containing a white deep cleanser and a clear whitening gel. The directions for this brightening duo indicates that you should use step 1 for a minute, spit, then follow up with step 2 before rinsing your mouth. The deep cleanser contains tiny beads which polish the teeth, leaving them a smooth but also a bit dry. The microbeads are supposed help polish away the surface stains, but at times I found them to be a bit harsh. During the first week my gums bled every time I would brush my teeth (which was twice a day), but by the second week the sensitivity went away. I do have to point out that it was the very first time that my gums have ever reacted in that manner to a new toothpaste.

I've been now using the Crest 3D White Brilliance Daily Cleansing Toothpaste and Whitening Gel System for three weeks (which is only a week shy from the recommended 4 weeks), and I see little to no changes in the color of my teeth. In person I see the exact same color I did 3 weeks ago, and in picture it tends to vary based on the lip color that I'm wearing. I've personally gotten way better results with the Crest 3D White Brilliance Toothpaste and the Crest 3D White Whitestrips Classic Vivid. Neither of those products require a second step or made my gums bleed.

I gathered three different pictures and to be honest I don't see much change in color between the before picture and the "3 weeks" pictures. This review is making it seem like I despise the Crest 3D White Brilliance Daily Cleansing Toothpaste and Whitening Gel System which I don't, it just disappointed me in terms of whitening my teeth. Since using the duo I've found that my mouth feels much cleaner than with an average toothpaste, and I also really appreciate the fact that I'm much more conscious about brushing my teeth than before. I'm definitely guilty of rushing while brushing my teeth, but since using the Crest 3D White Brilliance Daily Cleansing Toothpaste and Whitening Gel System I spend a full 2 minutes (sometimes 2.5 minutes) brushing my teeth. The duo is also much less messy than using the whitestrips and can be more affordable too. I also have to report zero tooth sensitivity after 3 weeks of using the duo twice a day.

Despite a big fan of the Crest 3D White range I can safely say that I'm not head of heels in love with the new Crest 3D White Brilliance Daily Cleansing Toothpaste and Whitening Gel System. It's a product that I will continue to use, but won't be repurchasing when I finish it.
