Review | Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer

A few weeks ago I did a sponsored blog post with Target which featured the new Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer. While the post focused more on my idea for a quick body care routine, I did have to mention some facts about the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer and show how the product works. Since publishing that blog post I've been using Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer regularly to see if I prefer this over a conventional moisturizer. All I can say as a teaser is that I have very mixed feeling about the moisturizer, there's definitely some pros and a lot of cons that I would love to talk about.

Here's some facts about the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer just in case you missed out on the other post I did about this product. This is not your conventional moisturizer. Why? Because this is meant to be applied in the shower before you start drying your body with a towel. The moisturizer is applied at your skin's peak "moisture moment" which is when your pores are wide open. Jergens claims that this rinse-less moisturizer will leave your skin soft for 24 hours and will provide 2x the moisture than a standard body lotion. 

While I stand by my claims that Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer is much quicker than applying a conventional moisturizers, I don't necessarily find this very hydrating. The Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer has a very lightweight gel-like texture which sinks into your skin effortlessly, but I find that the product is so lightweight that you'll need to reapply something else in a matter of a few hours (especially on your hands and arms). This in no way leaves your skin soft for the whole day, especially as we're heading into the drier months. 

Another thing that I also don't like about the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer are the scents. I find that the scents don't smell particularly pleasing, especially the Monoi Oil scent which kind of smells like my grandmother's clothing if I'm completely honest (no offense, grandma). One of the things I enjoy the most about body lotions is that the scent normally lingers on my skin for an hour or so, but the scents on the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer is so faint that you won't smell it 5-10 minutes after you apply it.

Overall I do appreciate how much time this product cuts from my body routine but I would still pick a regular moisturizer over this. If you have particularly dry skin I would save this moisturizer for days that you're in a hurry since it won't hydrate much on a day-to-day basis. Another thing that I do have to point out is that this product contains a high percentage of mineral oil and parabens, as well as artificial fragrance and colorants. It might be something worth considering if you were on the fence about the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer.

I personally enjoy it on days where I'm in a hurry (or just plain lazy) but I won't be repurchasing once I'm done with the two bottles.
