Like many of you I happen to get dry skin during the fall and winter. My hands can often feel rough to the touch, and don't even get me started on my elbows and feet. I reviewed the
Zim's Advanced Crack Creme and I referred to it as "a miracle in a tube," so when I was asked if I wanted to give their
Creamy Daytime Formula a try I just couldn't say no. Based on my previous experience I knew going in that I was going to enjoy this product, but will this become my go-to winter lotion? And how does it compare to the
Advanced Crack Creme?
The
Zim's Crack Creme Creamy Daytime Formula* is an herbal cream created by pharmacists to relieve and heal dry, cracked skin. The cream can be used to moisturize the driest parts of your body such as your hands, feet, elbows, knees, and cuticles. You can also apply this liberally on your body, which is what I've been doing for the past almost 3 weeks. Zim's products do contain parabens which may be a con to some people. Despite that, I have to say that I really enjoyed the
Zim's Crack Creme Creamy Daytime Formula which wasn't a big surprise. I found that my skin felt and looked softer within a week and a half of regular use. The most noticeable change was seen in my hands which were feeling a bit dry before the testing process. I also find that the
Zim's Crack Creme Creamy Daytime Formula works so much better than any cuticle oil that I've tried. If you have notoriously dry cuticles then I would really look into this non-greasy cream.
Now let's compare
Zim's Crack Creme Creamy Daytime Formula to the
Zim's Advanced Crack Creme and a few other Zim's formulas which I've purchased myself. The first thing I noticed is that the
Creamy Daytime Formula has a lighter consistency which absorbs a lot faster into the skin. I also found that the scent is a bit more faint, which is good because I'm still not a fan of the scent. In case you didn't read my previous review I described the scent of the
Zim's Advanced Crack Creme as a clove-like scent (very earthy and spicy). The scent does linger a bit so I would wait until you can't smell anything before applying a perfume. The main difference to me is that the
Advanced Crack Creme is meant for
extremely dry skin, or for people with skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema. If you just happen to have a a bit of seasonal dry skin, then I would opt for the
Creamy Daytime Formula.
If you don't like the idea of a very earthy scented cream, then the
Zim's Crack Creme Citrus Fresh Body Lotion or the
Zim's Crack Creme Butter Blends Body Lotion might be better options for you. Both of these creams were purchased by myself which goes to show how much I've enjoyed Zim's products. The
Zim's Crack Creme Citrus Fresh Body Lotion also contains arnica and aloe vera and it has a more traditional lotion consistency. This lotion also happens to have the most pleasing scent out of the Zim's products that I've tried. The
Zim's Crack Creme Butter Blends Body Lotion has a bit of a thicker formula compared to the lotion and a
very light fresh scent.
If your skin happens to get dry due to the seasonal changes, then I would highly recommend the
Zim's Crack Creme Creamy Daytime Formula which retails for $6.99. It's a highly effective product and the cream is the perfect size to keep in your handbag. I would also recommend you check out the other products in Zim's range such as their
Foot Cream and
Citrus Fresh Body Lotion.
